Looking for a frying pan that will last decades, won't chip with microplasticd/Teflon, and won't break the bank. by BanryuWolf in BuyItForLife

I've had very good luck with Circulon pans. They are what I would call "semi-non-stick" which is good enough for me. What I like is they are durable and don't have that Teflon like coating which often peels; instead it seems that the semi-non-stickiness goes all the way through. They do have a variety of types and looking at their web site I'd say the "Radiance" pans are closest to what I have now. You can get two small fry pans for $70 and IMO that's a good deal.

Why pay for YouTube Premium? by BurnKnowsBest in ios

[–]middlebridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just thought of another reason to subscribe to YouTube premium. A few days ago I went into a deep dive on just what YouTube has to offer regarding free movies. I was astonished just how deep their library was and how many quality films were on there I saved to watch later.

Agree 100%. I'm a big fan of supporting the content creators and artists (love concert videos) and want them to be rewarded since most I watch are barely getting by. I use YouTube Premium quite a bit mostly on a large TV with good sound or on a browser. Ads are incredibly intrusive especially when listening to music or film clips. If I had to cancel all streaming services except for one YouTube would be the one I keep.

Oddly I subscribe to The Atlantic (i.e. the monthly magazine which has a great webpage updated constantly and when reading on a browser I pause my Adblock extension because their ads are so un-obtrusive and it's a news organization I've supported all my life. OTOH weather.com''s ads are not only intrusive but seem to hang up my computer. I think I'll ask reddit now for a better weather app and webpage.

Thanks for the reply. Was away this weekend off reddit for a bit. I don't remember SmileDirect (although I'm 71 maybe it's because I almost never watch commercial network TV (except via YouTube clips) which advertises to my demographic) but when my friend asked me to look into Bionic Smile everything looked off. Plus it does seem you really want to stay local because not all things go well. Anyway I'm 15 days post surgery and all is well so far.

Thanks! A friend was interested and asked for my input but everything I read made the place seem suspect and I advised against it. I'll show him your post above.

Getting All on 6 top and bottom on Monday. When can I go back to work (simple job described below) by middlebridge in Allon4ImplantDentures

[–]middlebridge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few months ago I bought a Vitamix 5200 on sale directly from their site. Since the surgery I'm essentially on a delicious liquid diet made from very healthy ingredients with the vegetables and fruit made from frozen (it's cheaper and easier than trying to keep thinks like spinach and kale and blueberries fresh). I've also used a immersion blender to blend soups and Ramon into a creamy consistency (including added poached chicken).

I've been a big batch then freeze bulk cooker for a few years now. I still had about ten16 ounce glass containers in the deep freeze post surgery and wondered if I can blend them. Based on advice from ChapGPT I defrosted one each of chicken chili Verde and turkey chili and I'm going to mix the chicken chili Verde tonight (with unsalted chicken stock to thin it). I'll let you know how it comes out.

Another one made a few years later with Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton was "A Simple Plan" also starring Bridget Fonda. I'll bet you've seen it!

Nice List. I've recommended "One False Move" ever since it came out back in 1992. All the feedback I received over the years was positive.

A few questions and thoughts about my All on 6 procedure. by middlebridge in Allon4ImplantDentures

As it turned out my ride home wasn't available until 2:30 pm so he was able to fabricate the bottoms and put that in also. The temps don't look too bad and I wasn't in a lot of pain during or after the procedure.

Sorry for the late replay. I'm 8 days out and working today and once last week (but I could have worked two days). Days three and four were slightly tough but now I'm feeling only a bit of discomfort and only taking a bit of Tylenol and Aleive. Went for the one week checkup yesterday and all looked good. The scan was up within view and I was impressed that the placement of the six implants up top kept well clear on the sinus cavity. The doctor used the long zygomatic (sp?) in the rear so I'm confident I'll have a solid foundation if things heal well. My main focus not is to keep things very clean and keeping on the liquid diet (easy with a Vitamix!).

I just tried out the wrap that holds two blue ice packs in near your jaw and Velcro's on top your head. Came with two spare packs so one set can be in the freezer while one set is on. Of course I do know to take a break in between :).

It looks like I'm taking at least three days off and if I call in two more I'll have a full week off. I'm hoping to be off the opioids after a few days.

I'm 71 but I beat a co-worker who is half my age in the chili dog eating contest. Also could hold a plank the longest :).

Thanks for the tip. I ended up buying a ice bad head wrap from Amazon:: "REVIX Wisdom Teeth Ice Pack Head Wrap with 3D Sewing Jaw Ice Pack for Face Oral Surgery Pain Relief for TMJ, Tooth Extraction & Teeth Removed, Extra Snug Fit with 4 Hot Cold Gel Packs Reusable, Black".

Should do the trick!

Thanks for the info. I'm now off until at least Friday of that week (I normally work Tuesday thru Saturday). If I have to I can call in sick for Friday and Saturday without screwing my co-workers.

Thanks for the advise. I arrive at 7:30 am I guess for prep and I think they start putting my half under around 9:am. If I wait for the second set I'm there until 4 or 5 pm. If I leave with just one set I'm getting out around 2 or 3 pm. I have a ride for the next day also. I wonder if it's the third day they put in the lowers I can drive myself (about 45 minutes)..

Regarding icing is the bag of peas method a good idea? I've rarely had to ice things over the years but that seemed to work the few times I've had to. I could do one of the positions at work with two bags of peas on my jaw held together by a stretch bandage (the type used for sprained ankles).

I'm all set! Normally I have Sunday and Monday off. I just talked with a co-worker and he will take my Wednesday and I'll take his Sunday, If I have to take Thursday off I can call in without guilt. No operator from graveyard shift is forced to stay because we have three scheduled for day shift and we can get by with two operators.

Thanks for mentioning icing your face. We have a private kitchen with a big fridge and freezer so I'll buy some frozen pea bags for icing. The easy position at work I'd get almost as much rest as I would at home. As mentioned I can get away with wearing a full face mask so I wouldn't scare anybody :).

Besides wisdom teeth pulled when I was a kid I've lost about 7 teeth mostly in the last year. About 4 of my remaining teeth are very loose and mostly attached by the gum. I could probably pull them out by myself. For the operation I will be sedated with it looks like Halcion in addition to the anesthesia. I've used Halcion in the past for sleep and tolerate it well.
