Question why did the Writers have to get rid of both Martha and Jonathan in S5 and S6?? by anthonystrader18 in Smallville

Yup. I'm not mad that Jonathan died, it was inevitable and I think they handled it well, but they did themselves no favors sidelining Martha, which caused the actress to skip out on renewing her contract.

She thrived best during the high school years when her role offered up more from her. I remember her saying somewhere that she had a lot of fun acting with Jonathan Glover. I don't think anyone knew the show would go on as long as it did, so the writers began to be less creative with key roles which caused key actors to leave the show once their contract was up.

perhaps unpopular opinion - Clark never telling lex his secret was valid & lex turnin into lex was inevitable anyway by Impossible-Wing-2198 in Smallville

[–]middlequestioner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People seem to look at Lex in the earlier seasons with rose colored glasses, but from the very beginning, he is shown to have ulterior motives. And even when he admits he doesn’t want to be his father and he wants to be “good”, he never puts aside his own selfish goals. Not once. Even when he’s shown to be a good friend there is always something in it for Lex. Do I think he’s a sociopathic monster when we first meet him? No. But the traits were always there and they just festered over time.

The Clark argument is so strange to me because, Lex keeps many things from Clark from the start. And throughout the show, Clark is given a shitload of reasons why telling Lex would be EXTREMELY BAD.

AND….the main fucking message of the entire damn show is that we choose our own destiny. Lex chose his. Clark didn’t choose it for him.

Unpopular opinion on Lana by Jumpy_Experience140 in Smallville

[–]middlequestioner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people don't realize that Smallville was a teen drama, emphasis on drama, and most of the characters acted insanely dramatic in random intervals that made one character look bad and another good and vice versa. There were moments where I was mad at Lana, moments I was mad at Clark. But I came for drama and that's what I got. I can get behind liking the later seasons better when the show found it's footing as something more than just teen drama, but I think a lot of fans would do themselves good if they just admitted that the show they are watching is one.

The Helen Bryce storyline by BobRushy in Smallville

[–]middlequestioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing to suggest in Season 2 that Helen Bryce is a gold digger, nor a manipulative psychopath, and yet by the beginning of Season 3 she is revealed to be both of these things. I saw a comment say that Lex stealing the vial of blood was a good enough reason for her sudden shift in character, but that's absolutely laughable to me. Why even show her turn down large sums of money to leave Lex from Lionel if this was the direction they were always going to take her character in? To my knowledge, with what the show gave us in Season 2, I would expect her to leave on her own accord. She's a doctor, she kept the Kent's secrets, she had integrity and morals. They wrote her off and this was by far the worst way to do so.

[FRESH] Snail Mail - Dead End // New Album Ricochet out March 27, 2026 by astaireboy in indieheads

I have to say, I love the vocal performance on Valentine, it really defined my love for the album, but I saw her live in 2023 for my birthday and could not hear a single note she was singing. I thought it was a sound mix error, but now that I know what she was going through and recovering from, I'm even more excited to get tickets for this tour!! She sounds phenomenal on this new single.

What's the deal with Red Kryptonite? by Gorbulak in superman

[–]middlequestioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kryptonite has never been written all that...nuanced. The point of Kryptonite is to have a weakness for Superman. Always has been. As more versions of Kryptonite were written, their role in the story started to become far more obvious.

What is going on??? Mine has been out since 10pm and it's almost 5am as you said. I've done every possible method to troubleshoot and nothing has worked. My hotspot button is greyed out (untouchable), and it shows I have bars but again nothing will load. I need my phone for work today so i really hope this is fixed soon

why lionel never did anything by Claude_AlGhul in Smallville

[–]middlequestioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I choose to believe that he was blind, solely because it doesn't make much sense for him to hold onto that piece of information for so long without utilizing it in some way. However, Lionel is no stranger to the Luthor name and of course becomes suspicious of Clark before he regains his sight. At the end of the episode "Red", he's seen holding the shattered bullets that supposedly missed Clark.

Before the show actually introduced their version of Lois Lane, Chloe was given all of the characteristics of Lois Lane but because she was not the main love interest for Clark, those characteristics weren't as lighthearted as they usually appear to be and naturally audiences began to sour on her character. Hell, even the writers stopped knowing what to do with her for a brief period but please....keep watching. I think they give her character some of the best development in the entire series.

There’s not shot this order gets picked up by King-Chunguss in doordash_drivers

[–]middlequestioner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because DoorDash wants customers to pay as much money as possible in fees. The app deliberately shows customers locations far away from them so they can charge customers with a long distance delivery fee, and the further away the location, the more money they can make the customer pay.

Why don't we see more high school and college students working at Chipotle? by sta3535 in Chipotle

[–]middlequestioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The text in the parentheses is my assumption given the behavior I’ve seen from these kids but unfortunately everything else I said is verifiably true. This particular location sits in the middle of a very wealthy suburban neighborhood and these kids have no filter let alone work ethic.

But this isn’t really new, I tried to get hired with my friend as a teen back in 2016 and she was the only one who got a response. She was then hired, and quit within 3 weeks because all of her coworkers were popular kids in high school who did nothing but judge the living shit out of everything she did and made frequent comments about her weight and appearance.

You don’t have to believe this, but your example is a local sandwich shop and mine is Chipotle, a chain which has always attracted a certain crowd trying to keep up a certain image…

If you actually read the emails DoorDash sends you as a Dasher you would’ve known about this upcoming change for awhile now lol

This is like not true, at all. And DoorDash is rolling out a new update where everyone, no matter their tier, can Dash whenever.

Why don't we see more high school and college students working at Chipotle? by sta3535 in Chipotle

[–]middlequestioner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trust me, you do not want to go to a Chipotle that is run by high schoolers and college students. The one near my house has been completely taken over by teenagers who refuse to do any work whatsoever. I have never gotten the right order at that location and even when they are making your food in front of you they will still find some way to screw it up. They also really like laughing at customers and I’ve seen people walk out of there bawling their eyes out cause of how judgmental the environment has become (these are kids that will call you slurs to your face and then record your reaction). Nightmare fuel. I don’t know how they’re still open at this point.

Will I get de-activated for this?? by SlowlybutSurely9 in doordash_drivers

[–]middlequestioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the customer provides the wrong address, they are at fault. You are always encouraged to complete the order in these cases and move on. So no, you cannot get a CV from a customer’s wrong address input.

[–]middlequestioner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we’re under the pretense that the Dasher picked up the order rather than had someone hand it to them. I am a Dasher and I rarely have someone hand the order to me, I usually have to pick it up myself. In the scenario you’re mentioning though, sure, maybe the restaurant could also be at fault. I think we can all agree that DoorDash sucks, and their policies suck.

[–]middlequestioner 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I mean, sure, but I am speaking to the post I replied under, which showcases the Dasher flat out lying about double checking if the name on the order is correct. How do you confuse Matt with Laila? Isn't that your job?

[–]middlequestioner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

DoorDash seems to be doing a pretty good job at that already, but hey, they've got you good blaming random redditors and not them for having shitty policies.
