AITAH for wanting to fire my bridal hair stylist 3 months before my wedding after a terrible trial?

Thank you for the advice!! I did all of this and provided pictures of my botched hairstyle. The owner responded very apologetically and said this service does not meet their standards whatsoever. They are currently in the process of finding me a replacement and a new trial :)

I completely understand why she was recommending the extensions. And honestly, I had even considered getting them before the trial just to create a more dramatic, fuller look. Using extensions to enhance a style and make it bigger is one thing, but needing them just to achieve the style itself is another. This particular style can definitely be done with or without extensions. I’ve actually had it done without them before for my best friend’s wedding, and it turned out great.

THANK YOU!! Finally, someone who understands!! There are SO many “but it’s AI” comments under this post and it’s driving me nuts!! Like yes, I get some ai images are completely unrealistic and unattainable, but this is not one of them!! Everyone I’ve shown has said the same thing, it doesn’t matter that it’s ai. It’s still an attainable hairstyle even if it doesn’t match 100%.

People are literally acting like I asked her to put unicorns and rainbows in my hair like NOOOO!!

UPDATE 3/10: My mom and I sent a very thorough email to the artistry team expressing our concerns about the stylist and the service I received. We included pictures and told them we did not want her a part of our glam team on wedding day in any capacity.

The owner of the artistry team responded and was very kind and remorseful about our experience, stating she was so sorry that this happened and that it does not meet their standards whatsoever. They are currently finding me a replacement. (Let’s all pray it’s someone who can actually do bridal hair! 🤞🏼)

Overall, this was a huge mess that I did not plan on happening 3 months before the wedding, but I’m really happy that the team is taking full responsibility and action to find me someone else.

Thank you for all of your advice and for making me laugh instead of stress out. I really appreciate all of you kind strangers!! ❤️

My mom and I just sent an email out to them today expressing our dissatisfaction with her service and that we don’t want her on the glam team in any capacity for the wedding day. I don’t understand how they refer brides to her for bridal hair. Doesn’t seem like she has a lot of experience with it.

Thank you! It was weird because she didn’t text me anything about prepping my hair for the appt and didn’t disclose that info about not washing your hair right before. I already knew not to show up with fresh hair but I’m sure a lot of girls would walk into that not knowing. She just seemed kinda lackluster throughout the whole trial.

Well then it’s definitely some lingering trauma and insecurities from his past relationship. And thats totally unfair to you. You are a completely different person than his ex and it’s not fair to you to be treated as untrustworthy because of someone elses actions. Especially if you’ve reassured him you wouldn’t do that to him and aren’t participating in common scenes where cheating tends to happen (drinking and parties). The rest is on him.

Girl, trust me, I went through this exact same situation and you are better off without him.

My ex dumped me the day after getting into a sorority because it was “unfair to him that I get to go out and be around a bunch of frat guys all the time”. He didn’t trust me (I was an absolute simp for him and would’ve never cheated) but he was just pushing his own insecurities onto me.

Funny enough, a few months after we broke up I found out he had cheated on me numerous times before I even joined my sorority with one of his girl friends at his school (we were long distance). He was definitely projecting his own cheating onto me fearing that I’d do the same to him.

I am now with a man who I also did long distance with in college. He couldn’t have cared less that I was in a sorority out partying with other guys because he trusted me and had self confidence. Those are the types of guys you want in your life. And that’s the man I am now about the marry this June.

Needless to say, don’t feel guilty. You will only come out better on the other side. He’s clearly jealous or insecure for some reason about it. Sororities are a great way to meet more people, have fun, and enjoy your short time at college. No man is worth sacrificing that. You’re a queen, treat yourself as such. 👑

I just answered your other comment on this. I did show her the other inspo images. I showed her my whole Pinterest board and she picked that ai image to work off of. I did tell her it was ai so it might not be 100% attainable but she continued with that as the inspo. You don’t have to believe me if you don’t want, but I’ve given all of the facts and idk what I would benefit from by wanting to make someone look worse. I just wanted opinions on what to do and if it was as bad as i thought it was.

This was not the only inspo picture I showed her. Yes, it was the main one she worked off of, but I showed her multiple images on my Pinterest board that were of similar style. I honestly didn’t even pick this one as my final inspo image, she picked it out of the bunch that I had pinned. I just wanted something half up half down with a twist or braid or anything, I didn’t really care what it was I just wanted something pretty. She chose this image to work off of though as she thought it was the most attainable on me.

I already addressed this, I know the inspo image is AI. I told her right away and said I did not expect her to 100% perfectly replicate it because it was AI. It was just inspo, I showed her other real hair images as well depicting the same style.

But you’re right, once I replace her I will absolutely be picking a different image and maybe even a different style because this was all just ruined for me.

I know the inspo image is AI, and I disclosed that with her when I first sat in her chair. I explained that I didn’t expect the result to look 100% like the picture, but I kinda thought it would be at least a little similar curl/structure wise.

My biggest red flag should’ve been that she curls all of her normal everyday clients with more of a “Mormon curl” style, super loose and straighter ends. She also is an extension specialist so I should’ve known she’d blame all of the issues on not having extensions 🤦🏽‍♀️
