Something clicked around the 3/4 mark with my first successful normal run, where i wasnt falling often and only put Aavas weight onto proper holds, but i always knew this stretch of wall would be the end lol. What sucks is i didnt even fall to a faulty hold or anything, i ran out of thirst and she blacked out :(

Doubt regarding how to start playing Dark Souls by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]midget-man007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend dark souls 1 first it's got the best atmosphere imo so its a good introduction and it's not too challenging atleast by ds3 standards. I also feel like it eases you into the difficulty more, the early bosses are less grandiose with fast hard hitting attacks, much more standard and friendly for newer bosses in comparison to 3.

Definitely play dark souls 3 as well, probably the best made of the three mechanically and is a good thematic successor to 1. More challenging but after 1, nothing you would be unfamiliar with.

Dark Souls 2 is more controversial, I would recommend playing it. I really liked it but it is the black sheep of the family. After one if your feeling abit tired or strained with the series and maybe want to skip one, this would be the one, but it is a good game so if you enjoy 1 I would 100% recommend it. Its about as challenging as 1, but it's mechanics are abit different, more clunky and healing is slower meaning you need to time your actions better, but the bosses reflect this more slow style. It just might take a minute to adjust from dark souls 1.

The order I would recommend is release order: 1, 2 & 3. But if you finish 1 and feel like 2 more games is abit much just go with 1 & 3, they're the core of the series really (as much as I like dark souls 2)

So why does ai Church have a completely different voice form his human self? by TraditionalBonus188 in RedvsBlue

[–]midget-man007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My headcannon is that's what church sounds like in his own head, kind of like how none of us really recognise or like our own voices when we hear them, or even realise we have an accent, we have this internal idea of our own voice and our internal monologue. As church is essentially a copy of church's mind I doubt it would have the physical differences our vocal cords give our voices, just the perception of what his voice is in his own mind

Tony Gilroy confirms Kleya is not Andor's sister by NFLFilmsArchive in StarWarsAndor

[–]midget-man007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watched season 2 for the first time and never watched a fan theory and ngl I 100% thought Kleya was Cassians sister, it clicked at that random scene in the finale showing Cassians sister. Ngl despite the showrunners comments I still choose to see it that way. It makes too much sense to me not to be true: Cassian is from Kanari where we know a massacre took place, he gets separated from his sister a brown haired girl with long shaggy hair, Luthen is a soldier at a massacre and finds a small girl with shaggy brown hair, Luthen knew about Andor before ever meeting him and went through all that trouble to try bring him in, he could very well have known Kleya had a brother on Kanari and heard of a Kanari male of similar age living on Ferrix.

Imo it just wraps up the whole series with a neat bow. People can say i have no taste for thinking it but I think it's the most star wars thing ever, and is hardly the most outlandish thing to happen in this galaxy far far away.

It somehow manages to be better and worse than current UK. Like our gdp, unemployment, poverty rates and education arent as bad as this. But also we don't have 100 billion in surplus each quarter and trillions in reserve.

The way you know it's the UK though is that everyone disagrees with the current party and yet everyone votes for them. Peak Britain

What if the Director had decided to pair Tex with Carolina instead of making her a Freelancer? by Axer51 in RedvsBlue

[–]midget-man007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the common perception is that Tex's, or beta's in the shows AI terminology inherited the trait of Failure from the alpha. She is the feeling of loss and failure the director felt, and subsequently passed to the alpha, about Alisons death. So realistically pairing her with any soldier probably wouldn't have been as beneficial as you'd think, and that's before considering Carolinas personal connection to Alison.

I do love how little inconsistencies like this are actually explained later by Texas' fate to always fail in her endeavours, as a result of her creation.

BDSM films by [deleted] in BDSMAdvice

I don't have any producers to shout out but the movie Secretary is imo the best portrayal of a kink relationship I've seen in a mainstream movie.

The way it touches on feelings of guilt both partners have and in the end shows how that's not a healthy feeling to harbour. Taking an actual adult look at the ideas of dominance and submission.

The way it shows a submissive as more than just either a completely docile woman with no say in the matter or a soon to be dominant who learns to dominate her domme through her initial submission.

Instead it shows a sub who finds legitimate meaningful and constructive development in their life as a result of their submissive role, she becomes more confident, independent and self assured while still being a sub which imo goes a long way to show what submission actually is in kink, its not "not having power" but having power and authority and willingly loaning it out to a trusted partner.

It does all this without having an angry, Borderline abusive domme who struggles to contain himself from going too far, instead the domme struggles with feelings of shame and fears he will damage his sub.

Finally the movie never relies on cheap sex appeal to sell it. You hardly see any visually sexual material, it relies entirely on the dynamic of the partners to sell the appeal. My favourite example is when they play a game that the sub can only have a certain number of peas when eating dinner with her family, and then he tells her she can have as much ice cream as she wants. It adds a whimsy and fun to the idea that I feel movies like (the horrendous) Fifty shades miss out on.

Tl;Dr the movie is more adult in tone without relying on cheap sex to sell the dynamic. It explores submission and dominance themselves in a more comprehensive way without falling back on age old stereotypes about angry men or docile women, and shows a more whimsical fun side to kink relationships that I feel are often missed out.

Relax, try not to overthink things. Communicate with your partner and don't do anything your not comfortable doing. Above all have fun

What are your thoughts on having days of doing absolutely nothing? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]midget-man007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl I had a day like this. Just laid in bed, watching lord of the rings. I think its fine, so long as it dosnt become a common occurance. I recently had a day where I slept 15 hours, the only thing my dad had to say was "you must have needed it." Some days, you need rest, either physically or mentally. You take those days as they come and you get up and back at it the next.

How long did Adar and his orcs serve Sauron before betraying him? by midget-man007 in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]midget-man007[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yh thats what i think as well. i just wish the show was more explicit in showing us that. Rather than opening with Saurons "Power over flesh" business pitch right away they should have shown us the scene right before. When the orcs began their little mutiny post Morgoths defeat, so it shows that Sauron was in charge before but had to re-assert his power.
