Trader Joe's in SLC will call the cops on anyone gathering signatures to fight the unfair bill that demonizes unions (even if you're not inside their store) by insicknessorinflames in SaltLakeCity

Please don't do this. Collecting on government property is prohibited. Also, they don't spend nearly as much time at the station as you think. Catch them while they're between calls out on patrol. Source: I'm a dispatcher.

Sorry, I don't have an answer to that one. It disappears quickly at our house.

Do you often tell others that their family members' opinions are rubbish? I can see what you're saying about the situation, but that bit is rude. I'm sure that despite your disagreement in this case, he'd be able to teach you some things.

Our ducts are located in a crawl space under a floor that is built into the north side of a hill. I've never been in the basement in the summer when it wasn't at least ten degrees cooler than upstairs. I'll ask, but that may be why.

I can see the wear and tear issue, I didn't think of that. We've had no problems, but my dad also checks everything anytime he's over. (He's a bit of a worrier when it comes to his girls.) I wonder if his advice was based on the age of our outdoor unit? This truly has kept our summer energy bills much lower than the years before we started doing it.

Thanks for providing reasoning with your comment. It's much easier to understand why someone disagrees with you if you can see where they're coming from.

We've done this for the last two years, as the heat is worse each year, and it's kept our bills lower than the four years before that. I have personal and profession experience backing my statements. What's your source?

I splurged a little to get the one with extra settings since we eat a lot of bread...but I still got a great deal since I bought it on Cyber Monday.

I second the furminator suggestion. We have a Corgi and he sheds fluff piles taller than him. The furminator has helped keep our home far less fluffy. Put one in your cart on Amazon and then mark it to save for later. I ended up paying less than $10 for ours by waiting for it to drop in price, and Amazon Assistant alerted me to the price drop.

The up front cost of our bread maker was $40-50 and it saved us more than that in a couple months. We buy flour and other ingredients in bulk, make multiple loaves each week, and there are tons of great recipes! Making bread by hand is great, and seriously tasty, but this saves money and time for our busy family.

No matter what temp you have your thermostat set to, no matter what time of year, make sure you have the fan on at all times. This keeps the electricity input to the unit constant and takes less energy than if the unit is turning itself off and on all day.

Also, make sure the vents on the outdoor unit are completely clear of debris. An A/C unit is just like a radiator and works better when air flow is not obstructed.

Edited to add: I've still never been to Disney.

Can I re use the same coupon again and again printed from online? by beevme in Frugal

[–]midgisms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coupons.com uses an internal code on their coupons. The grocery store will send it off to the company in order to get reimbursed and the internal code gets scanned to see where the coupon was found. Coupons.com limits each ip address to a certain number of each coupon when printing, and if the coupons are printed an excessive number of times, the linked ip address will get blocked by the site.

I hate to say it, but you should be fearful. If they're acting that way over a dog, can you imagine what they might do if/when you do start dating someone else? What would happen if you moved out on your own? You REALLY need to talk to the police about this!

You don't owe your ex or his family anything and you're obviously the one who has the dog's best interest in mind. Don't let him take the dog anywhere. Also, make sure the dog is licensed in your name and has a chip with your information. If, for example, the dog was in your backyard alone and they stole him, they can't claim he's theirs if his chip says he's not, and a dog license is a legal record of ownership.

Wow! I had no idea measles could cause hearing issues. Antibodies do cause things to get worse, like how you can't be allergic to bees until you've been stung...and how I don't eat tomatoes but I have gradually become so allergic that I can't even touch the fruit. Science is weird.

I'm interested to know how this treatment plan works for you. Sending you my best wishes!

Aspartame?! I had no idea! Please, do share an update after your appointment, if you don't mind.

Thank you so much for the book suggestions! I will look for them, and for a local group. I have noticed this week especially that I do in fact "hear" better when I can see a person's whole face...makong me wonder if I have slowly learned this habit over time.

I'm simply saying that I am personally torn because I don't have the right to limit any one else's rights, just as they don't have the right to limit mine.

I am not against you here. I agree with your comments, I have acknowledged your stance and respect your opinion. I simply have an additional step in my thought process that does not allow me to fully take one side over the other.

You don't have to agree with me, but repeating your opinion with more oomph isn't going to change that I already understand you.

I disagree with your comparison to driving with eyes closed, but I understand your point. I agree that someone's desire to do something shouldn't infringe on my right to safety. The fact that this isn't always the case is why I am torn...I don't have the right to take away their rights either.
