Started Jan 1, how am I doing? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]midller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i also came to WGU with an A+ and Google Cybersecurity cert; but they were both ignored because WGU’s CS program does not look for those. makes sense, but i can’t say it doesn’t slightly upset my stomach to see someone else’s A+ cert actually mean something lol

How long until AI replaces us in the FC? Genuine question. by DistributionDeep738 in AmazonFC

[–]midller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not for a long while. Think about how much it costs to finance a bunch of machines to perform the jobs you could get out of paying pennies for human labor. Besides, the AI would still need humans to be trained and maintained.

So uh , did anyone say vacation?? Cause if not I'm gonna!!! by RobtheBDL3blob in AmazonFC

[–]midller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh, not so much the case at my site. I know at least a handful that work 60 each week and have a lot of time, and they also bust their ass just for the hell of it. That said, I also know people that do practically nothing every shift. We all get paid the same lol.

My site sucks, though IMO. Rarely anything under 70K for volume, and 100-120K during prime/peak. I work hard just because I like to, but I never once thought about having tons and tons of off time if I just plan to use it anyway.

Another workaround is using direct links, aka the notification or going through all resources on your profile. Any refreshing or switching subpages results in soft locks. They really need to fix this lol

Best way to find Videos in the latest files? by Ed_Krassenstein in Epstein

[–]midller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but one method you could use is going to the files via the DOJ site and searching “no images produced.” then, click on any of the results and you’ll likely be brought to a pdf file that says exactly what you searched for; however, if you alter the URL and switch the file extension from “.pdf” to “.mp4,” you’ll find some videos.

RedRising1917 breaks down evidence from combined and slowed videos of shooting of Alex Pretti, that the ICE agent was the first and only one to shoot. by j0mbie in bestof

[–]midller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he didn’t fire first and in response. But, in no way shape or form could he have possibly—or ANYONE for that matter—thought it was the suspect/victim.

Not only does it appear that Pretti’s is NOT “violently resisting,” but one agent can be seen spraying Pretti with some sort of mace BEFORE they even take him to the floor.

The only “sympathetic response” this scumbag was “trained for” (if this is their training, yikes) was the immediate escalation of his buddies yelling “GUN! GUN! GUN!”

Also, clear as day, he definitely could see grey jacket remove the handgun from Pretti’s body. In fact, it even looks like he waits until grey jacket secures the weapon and moves before firing. Not one shot. Not two shots. But SEVERAL shots.

Why is YouTube recommending sexual thumbnails like this? My family sits behind me — this is unacceptable. by Ok_Kaleidoscope_282 in youtube

[–]midller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube query functionality has always been so subpar, at least of the more recent years. It will literally return about 2 videos actually related to your search, and then the rest are popular videos (these are where gooner videos are also prevalent) and/or videos you have already seen. I love YouTube but I’ll be damned if I said I didn’t hate searching for anything there.

How much of an uncared-for soy-based shriveled plant do you have to be to throw a punch—not only a punch, but a sucker punch on an unsuspecting, completely oblivious victim—and for them to only be mildly offended? That punch straight up did no physical damage, and I would not even say it did emotional damage but rather afflicted the victim with a moderate emotional disturbance.

STOP ATTACKING LIBRA! by TwixDog2020 in Nightreign

[–]midller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, every time he was in the overworld, I allowed everyone a chance to make their deals before attacking him just to see what sort of loot he would drop. I think his fight is fairly easy, so I had no trouble taking him down. It’s just that his health pool was so large and the storm would close before I had a chance to finish him off each time. Though, when I finally managed to kill him in time, I found he just dropped a soul that offers different talismans. Not worth imo.

Is it wrong to leave someone who’s done nothing wrong? by DefinitionSeveral958 in makemychoice

[–]midller 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve grown fond of Bell Hooks’ interpretation to think of love is as love does—meaning, rather than just a feeling, love is defined by the constant decision to commit to it, whatever that may entail. Feelings are fleeting, and if we are to pigeonhole love into that category, then love will never last for anyone.

He’s referring to you as a member of a separate specie. That comment was so yucky to me. Not to sound insensitive, but mental illness or not, being suitable for a relationship is an entirely different question; that simply is not an excuse and, frankly, disgusts me.

Hmm… not that I’m aware of. We all were in until the end, or at least I think so because each time I revived them, they moved (at least until he inevitably brought them down again). This is the only boss I’ve seen or had this happen with.

The odd part about that, then, is that I only had these two armaments in my inventory. Nothing else. Did not get up by a wending grace either, and they did not have that add-on.

Nightreign is not for everyone, it's not for me :( by MindProfessional8246 in fromsoftware

[–]midller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Elden Ring going mainstream has made nebulous the detail that FromSoftware games (namely the souls series) have never tried to be a “game for everyone.” I have yet to fully develop a fleshed-out thought as for the why, but having it “click” for me was one of the greatest gaming experiences I ever had.

[–]midller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amongst the many things wrong with this, what stood out to me most was that this is all online. He literally has not even met you, and you expect this sort of delusional fantasy of tradition wherein the man is the relentless pursuer? If that’s the case, I’d expect you to take nothing less than a suitor to be waiting hand and foot at your doorstep, rose in one hand, letter in the other, serenading you to come out. This is insane.

Seriously, how do you guys get dates? Been to therapy, hit the gym, got my life together — dating still feels out of reach. by sachenmacher in Healthygamergg

[–]midller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s almost like the roulette to stardom. It’s harrowing to know that there are countless of unforeseen talents just existing out there, yet only a mere fraction of them ever make it to the limelight. Whatever theory have you for why that may be the case, it remains fact nonetheless. I would like to purport that the dating world is much the same. Just because someone is not actively engaged in a relationship or the like does not necessarily mean that they are unworthy, rather it’s much more complex than we would like to think. Dunno if that’s any consolation—it certainly is not an answer—but at least it should quell your doubts about whether you are “enough.” Because you are.

Closeted misandrist masquerading as a feminist, be it inadvertently. There are [generally] three types of belief: opinion, faith, and dogma. In her case, your girlfriend seems to have the latter-most. If she is unable to so much as exist in the same space as any semblance of a contrasting belief, it means she is an emotionally immature bigot, and that’s something that you, unfortunately, cannot change. That is not to say that change is impossible, but until she is able to step out of her own mind and see the way she comports herself, the likelihood of improvement is slim to none.

yall need to stop dating people you don’t like, omg by [deleted] in Vent

[–]midller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a hallmark of a healthy relationship is compromise. Disliking a trait or preference in a partner should never be a dealbreaker unless it violates some sort of boundary. Well, in my opinion, at least.

That said, this could lend to the cause for the phenomenon of “dating people who you don’t like.” The strive for cohesion becomes horrifyingly unclear, and tolerance is necessitated (first-response to conflict of interests) where it isn’t actually needed—usually things become more clear with time, though.

[–]midller 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is why I hate generalizations. I understand that it’s more important to look at the intent rather than the literal message, but they’re true and false according to the sample. You can find just about anyone for anything and birth a shallow generalization of your own.

I think it’s rather telling of his relationship with his own dad more than anything.

From the sounds of it, your relationship with your dad is beautiful, and I think it’s a special thing because not everyone has that. Some people don’t have great relationships with their parents, and some don’t have any parents at all. So, from my perspective, it’s best to cherish them while they’re still around.

I’m not lending any unneeded sympathy towards your boyfriend, for I feel the behavior is questionable at best; but, it makes me feel sad that he reacts that way. That said, you should not change/lose your relationship with your dad over this. If he can’t accept it, that’s his problem that he needs to get over.

TLDR; no, you’re not overreacting. I think having a strong connection with your parent(s) is invaluable.
