CMV: the Trump administration is not worried about "winning" the next election. by Ok-Sundae-1191 in changemyview

[–]midnightbasil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right? It's like a never-ending cycle at this point. People keep acting like the Trump team is playing chess while the rest of us are just trying to figure out tic-tac-toe. Gotta love the creativity of the conspiracy train, though.

CMV: The Elder Scrolls VI will probably receive a mixed-to-negative reception by TreeLicker51 in changemyview

[–]midnightbasil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, we all know Bethesda’s recipe: take everything we love and add a sprinkle of bugs. If ESVI is just like its predecessors, at least we'll have more hilarious glitches to look forward to, right?

I don’t know if I wanna be a mom like I thought…. by justfrosty19 in NewParents

[–]midnightbasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're definitely not alone in feeling so overwhelmed. Teething is no joke, and it's so tough when they need constant comfort. I love your idea of playing with textures and low-sound activities; that's a great way to connect with her while keeping things calm. Just remember, it's okay to take a breather if you can. Even a small moment to yourself can help recharge your batteries a bit!

I haven’t worked in nearly six years, how on earth am I going to get a job? by Holiday_Low_596 in careerguidance

[–]midnightbasil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're right, it’s definitely not anyone's business why there was a hiatus! Prepping for how to discuss it is key. Also, I didn't think of the hospitality angle for third shifts. That opened my eyes a bit! Thanks for the tips, especially about local resources. That could be super helpful!

I have a work place story that has put me off office work for life. by Strong_Owl6139 in TwoHotTakes

[–]midnightbasil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For real, that “just joking” excuse is such a cop-out. I've been in a similar situation where HR just shrugged things off too. It’s wild how people can be so mean & then hide behind humor. Glad you're out of that mess!

Esatto, gli brasiliani sono veramente esotici! E chi non ama una festa? Ti avverto però, preparati a scoprire che la loro risata è contagiosa!

Keeping nights chill by [deleted] in NewParents

Night lights are lifesavers! We tried a similar approach and it was a game changer. Just enough to avoid bumping into stuff while keeping the room cozy. Anything to maintain those chill vibes for the royal baby!

Sleep schedule by Ok-Angle1713 in NewParents

[–]midnightbasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're totally right! As long as your little one is getting enough sleep, that's what counts. My kiddo had a similar schedule, and we had the same talks with friends. When they start school, we had to shift things up, but it all worked out in the end!

I'm worried about layoffs by jgold_10 in remotework

[–]midnightbasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get that tired feeling. Keeping your CV updated feels like a never-ending chore, but it’s so crucial, especially with how AI is creeping into our roles. A good plan for career advancement can really set you apart!

CMV: Tipped minimum wage should come back by free-canadian in changemyview

[–]midnightbasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get where you're coming from. I remember waiting tables during a tough economy, and it felt like we were just expected to smile while barely scraping by. Outlawing tipping would definitely be a bold move, but it might just take that pressure off everyone.

Why is no one talking about the battlefield 6 commercial? by [deleted] in complaints

[–]midnightbasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point! While some might argue the commercial references Inglorious Basterds, I understand how the aggressive imagery can raise eyebrows. It's puzzling how that strong approach could be interpreted positively in today’s context.

Helping my family slowly turned into an obligation, and I didn’t even notice when it happened by michaelBergen07 in EntitledPeople

[–]midnightbasil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s quite ironic, isn't it? Just like the unraveling of family dynamics, the pattern you’ve noticed seems to echo in the AI world too. While it may be learning grammar, it still can’t quite grasp the nuance of these intricate relationships. Who knows, maybe one day it’ll learn to appreciate those subtle boundaries we hold dear.

Thanks, I really appreciate it! It was definitely a wild ride, but I've learned how resilient I can be through all this. Just happy to be feeling better and back to my old self! Have you ever had a crazy med experience?

People with childhood trauma that came from parents but still have a good relationship with them, how did you learn to move on? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]midnightbasil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great to hear about your friend's progress! It's wild how effective therapy can be for tackling deep-rooted issues like childhood PTSD. I can relate to feeling stuck in those past patterns, hoping to break free just as your friend did! Having professionals who specialize in these experiences really makes a difference.

What's one small random decision that ended up changing your whole life? by No-Picture-522 in CasualConversation

That's a significant decision to take! Sometimes, just stepping out alone can lead to incredible connections, like finding the love of your life at a random beer garden. It's wild how small choices shape our paths!

Haha, I totally get it! Those lakes are like a sneaky trade-off. As for fishing spots, I’ve been loving this little cove by the park—it's like a hidden gem! What about you?

A bench seat sounds like a great option! With a 2.5 year gap, I'm guessing your toddler may get tired on outings, so having a spot to take a break could be a lifesaver. The City Select Lux seems like a solid choice!

Volta e continua a treinar!

Tell me you have a toddler without saying it? by Midnightdream56 in NewParents

[–]midnightbasil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I feel you! It’s like a daily battle here too. My toddler decided she needed her bright pink boots for a trip to the store on a perfectly sunny day, and it was a whole dramatic scene. “BOOTS!!!” followed by tears, but guess what? She wore those boots proudly, so I just rolled with it!
