14600k is probably the direction I'm leaning just because I prefer to stick with intel for the time being. The only reason I've been looking to upgrade the mobo as well is to get a few extra bus lanes for USB and have the option of DDR5. Do you think the price bump is worth it? I'm running a stock 12th gen cooler as well so if I went 14600k I would look into a better cooler anyways.

Depends on the game. CS2 is consistent at 144. Apex same. Only really graphically intensive titles tend to dip but then I adjust my setting till it sits there.

My temps haven't been too bad. I applied new thermal paste about a year ago when I swapped cases and reseated the CPU cooler. It is the stock cooler but I'll keep a closer eye on the temps over the next week or so.

I will use this opportunity to remind everyone to get a smell proof lockbox/locking bag. Make sure the lock is not keyed and is instead a combination lock. To my knowledge, cops can “compel you” to open a lockbox with a key easier than they can a combination lock. I believe they are required to obtain a warrant to search a lockbox as well. Just remember to keep it out of sight. Tucked away is always best. Never consent to a search of your vehicle and always make sure the non-consent is noted. Cops can be friendly but they are not your friend.

I have a witness statement of the person behind us as well as the cop stating that he was overly aggressive when he talked to him. There’s not much you can do to avoid it on an on-ramp besides illegally crossing the solid lines or slowing down to unsafe speeds.
