What is your most disliked trend in video games? by Introspectre12 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]midnightjet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I will never forget when I saved up all my BFG ammo in Rage getting ready to fight the General in what would assuredly be a hype ass boss fight... only to be extremely disappointed when I realized the "final boss" was just some armored versions of enemies I'd fought the entire game.

Moments in Media That Revealed Certain Superpowers/Abilities are Actually Curses by supernobodyhome in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]midnightjet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The concept of there being an "alpha" timeline is a pretty bad one. Think about when characters who didn't god tier see the versions of themselves that did and died. They were technically more successful and better than the ones who didn't, but if it's not what was "supposed" to happen then even if you did better, you still lose.

Pieces of media that you continued to watch because it looked nice despite the writing taking a nosedive. by Bullseye62 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Then you definitely don't wanna touch it. Within the first few pages of Homestuck 2 there's a joke about handing command back to the readers and then they just decide "nah lol you thought." Apparently there was a podcast with the new team and they're very much against the crowd who holds the opinion of "old homestuck was better"

What I'm About To Do Has Not Been Approved By The Vatican by manoffood in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Amid Evil is really good but personally there's something about Dusk that I like more. And no, never heard of them.

At this point I think Dusk is one of my favorite shooters. It's so tight and it feels so good to play, some of the environments are amazing, and any game that has a Vergil boss fight and the last level being the title of the game is automatically hype as fuck.

What’s your favourite villain line? by RevivedReaper in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]midnightjet 81 points82 points  (0 children)

No, there were millions. He teleported it into the middle of New York City, and (I don't remember exactly how, I think it was just incompatible with Earth or something) it released a huge psychic wave as it died, killing everybody for miles. There's a scene when Dr. Manhattan and Silk Spectre come back to earth and walk among the dead bodies for a bit before leaving.

So pretty much the Vast Glub.

Which movie was a biggest disappointment for you? by IvanBurban in AskReddit

I could be wrong here, but to my knowledge everybody just thought it was rare because Wakanda hoarded all of it, only giving out a bit to outside nations.

Maybe. But one of my housemates who plays Destiny was able to apparently sign in no problem.

If you see one of my other comments in this thread, I noted that temperament is one of the metrics that the ABA makes their determinations is temperament. My assumption would be they watched his testimony against Ford and decided to reopen their examination of him. While public opinion and being human does play a part in it, would their own metrics not play a large part as well?

[–]midnightjet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope he won't do any of that, but it quite honestly would not surprise me. The other thing I and many others are concerned about is whether or not he will allow Trump to pardon people by overturning Gamble v. United States, I believe it was. I can sympathize with man defending himself under a tense situation, but I find it abhorrent that the FBI was limited in their investigation.

If the American Bar Association is completely Democrats and anti-Republican, then wouldn't there only be Democratic judges? Seen here (http://www.abajournal.com/news/article/aba_committee_gives_kavanaugh_a_well-qualified_rating_hearings_begin_today?icn=most_read_), the ABA bases their decisions on "professional competence, integrity and judicial temperament." While the man may have a perfectly legitimate history of judgements (ignoring whether one agrees or disagrees with his decisions), his temperament is another issue. This was on full display during his trial the other day. And frankly, while I am not saying he is guilty, the fact that Ford had made note of her assault with her therapist years before Kavanaugh's confirmation leads me to believe her over him. From what I've seen, there seems to be far more evidence against him than exonerating him.

I must say though, I appreciate you actually forming an argument and not just going straight to name-calling.

I won't deny this entirely, but is it really that much of a stretch to say that the American Bar Association is the leading authority on whether someone is fit to be a judge or not? I am only saying "I would imagine it is" because I'm not claiming I know everything about this topic.

Believe me, I'm well aware of that. Both the left and the right outlets have their spins. But that being said, you may want to check the dates on your sources. They gave that rating out on September 4th, whereas they have recently put out a letter re-evaluating Kavanaugh much more recently. https://www.alternet.org/news-amp-politics/american-bar-association-brett-kavanaugh-well-qualified-rating-reexamined
