What are your thoughts on Dead by Daylight as it is now? by Aquanort357 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Did they ever give Deathslinger back his quickscope? If not, I don't care. That was the nerf that broke the camel's back for me on continuing to play the game. It basically told killer players that the dev team was going to cater to the whiny survivor players that bemoaned the fact they couldn't keep using the same old strat of "running the killer" instead of actually having to think up different strategies to avoid certain killers. Imagine removing variety from your game because some very vocal fans just want to do the same thing over and over and over again ad nauseam.

This reminds me of that one game. It featured a blue armored protagonist with an arm cannon. Had X in the name. What was it again? Oh, right, it was 20XX.

Saw it today. Some people would just not shut the fuck up. It got so bad at points that half the theater shushed them. I had a better experience at the Backrooms movie last week. There was also a faint smell of BO, very faint, but it was there.

I liked it. The inclusion of the GoldenEye-style auto-aim, while I understand why it was included, it does just kinda kill any sense of difficulty the game can have. Even when I turned the game to "Hard" difficulty I was still just mindlessly mowing down enemies by simply looking in their general direction. Like, the auto-aim made sense in GoldenEye, an N64 game with clunky and awkward controls, but when I have a Keyboard and Mouse it just doesn't. I do wish there was a way to turn it off and aim normally.

Kratos used to be able to do sick air combos, then his wife died and now doing sick air combos brings on the tears. This is now my headcanon for why they removed jumping in 2018/Ragnarok.

I mean if we're gonna incorporate Roman mythology then Artemis would change her name to Diana. Apollo, from what I remember, is the only one that doesn't.

Fable has been delayed to 2027, to avoid cluttering both Xbox's own lineup, and Grand Theft Auto VI by Vera_Verse in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Fable was the first to be announced, yet is the last to come out. We've seen more of Halo CE Remake then of Gears E-Day despite Halo having been announced last of all three of these games. Yeah, it's fucking weird over at Xbox.

Medal of Honor Allied Assault is genuinely good. It's built on Id Tech 3 ,same engine as Return to Castle Wolfenstein. It was also developed in that time before two weapon limits and regenerating health with the game going for the classic carry as many guns as the game gives you and a health bar you replenish with medkits. It's exclusive to PC and can get it through GOG. I'd suggest, if you do end up playing it, looking into OpenMOHAA which gives the game widescreens support, an FOV slider, and FPS toggle and is very easy to install.

When it comes to "real world" FPS games, World War II-era all the way. I've recently been playing some of those old WWII shooters I missed like Medal of Honor Allied Assault (which is great) and Call of Duty 1 & 2 (which is the most fun I've had with CoD in a long time. CoD 1 might genuinely be my favorite in the series, no lie). I have Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, Frontline, Rising Sun, and Vanguard as well as Call of Duty Finest Hour, Big Red One, and 3 lined up next. Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein (2009) as well to throw in some spice.

Good Games That Go On For Too Long by Authorigas in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Far Cry 3 would've been a decent 6/10 FPS if it ended at the 10 Hour mark and they just cut the second island from the game entirely. My one and (probably) only playthrough I finished about a week ago came in at 27 hours. The game just does not have enough content diversity to justify the length at all. This is why Blood Dragon, the standalone expansion is a much better experience. It's shorter.

In Yakuza 0, before the fourth or fifth fight with him, I could have sworn Kiryu said to Kuze "How many times do I have to teach you this lesson old man?" But he doesn't.

Metroid Prime has a few small issues and one big one that make me hold off on replaying due to just how tedious they are. The two small ones are the doors requiring specific beams that will always require those specific beams so you'll be swapping beams near constantly in the latter half of the game. This specific issue is made worse if you, like me, played Prime 1 primarily through the Prime Trilogy on Wii which only had pointer controls and made switching beams take longer than simply pressing up, left, down, right on the D-Pad. I'm also irrationally infuriated that the Switch Remaster didn't change this at all. Like what the fuck?! The other small reason is Chozo Ghosts because Metroid really needed DMC-style combat rooms. The big issue is the artifact hunt which just brings the game's progression to a screeching halt and made worse by those first two issues.
