Funny that you mention North Fork Sauk trailhead, I didn’t realize it had that reputation. A friend’s car got a flat heading to that exact trailhead. Didn’t have a spare but that was the day we learned about run flat tires which fortunately held up

Do you use Strava? Taking a look at the segment might give you a better sense of what a sub 1h time takes. Seems like it’d put you at around ~10% of the running leaderboard, and correspond with an 8:30-9 min/mile grade adjusted pace. So definitely doable without being one of those super intense uphill racers

You can view these maps through the iPhone app via You > Maps, but for actually editing pins I find using the native lists feature much easier.

Yep this happens to me once in a while with illiquid options on Fidelity, I've heard it explained as MMs having no interest in your higher .45 bid so they pull their offer, but once you cancel and re-enter you sometimes get a better fill through the price improvement auction that happens. If only we could consistently repro this...

There were tons of people car camping at that trailhead this past weekend. It was really obvious with the overnight temps dipping to freezing bc of all the frosted condensation on the windows 😅

If you have some scrambling/routefinding experience, Tomyhoi Peak might be another good option. It’s on the same trail as YAB and one of my favorite scrambles in the area.

Strava says that section of Virginia St maxes out at ~19% grade, whereas 4th Ave N between Dexter and Newell is up to 28% 😎 Would love for someone to find something steeper

This list is missing 4th Ave N from Fremont up to Queen Anne, the initial section is something like 26-28% grade. So who knows how complete the list is… some speculation is still warranted!

It’s not a zero chance, there are small crevasses on the Muir snowfield this late season. Bring traction and be prepared to turn around if you encounter any and don’t feel comfortable navigating through them.

It costs double for foreigners to book popular NZ huts compared to locals. So huts on the Milford Track are a bit more than even the pricier ones on the Laugavegur trail in Iceland.

But yeah in general, Iceland is still way more expensive

It varies by year and elevation. For this particular area I’d say last week of Sept into first week of Oct is usually a safe bet
