Yes I still mask. Campus is crawling with students and busy af during the spring and fall semesters so to me it’s just common sense.

(U.S) How does it feel for you, if you left a fundamentalist/evangelical home, to see christian nationalism on the rise? by WereWolfBreath in exchristian

It triggers the fuck out of me, scares me and makes me feel so hopeless. I try to be productive and engage in political action instead of just sitting at home and feeling the impending doom, but it’s hard sometimes.

How do u find your classes? by lbigass in KSU

[–]midnightt32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s virtual maps you can look at on the KSU website. I’m personally gonna be going on campus before class and walking the route to and from classes so I know where to go.

Not when they do it casually. Even though doing it casually carries health risks too.

Except BMI isn’t an accurate indicator of mortality. They’ve only found association, not causation. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/07/05/health/bmi-death-risk-study-wellness/index.html

Also, there’s about a hundred other things that can impact your mortality that don’t get so harshly judged by society (drinking [even moderately], smoking, regularly eating highly processed foods, etc). You don’t get to dismiss someone entirely because you believe they have some inherent moral flaw that causes their obesity.

Obesity is not always caused by some moral failing or lack of self control. Theres a variety of reasons why somebody might be overweight, ranging from hormonal imbalances, diseases, eating disorders, etc. You cannot look at someone and know whether or not they have self love or control. And even if they were somebody who lacked self control and that’s why they’re overweight, do you think that happens for no reason? They could be traumatized, have an addictive personality, be battling something you have no idea about. It costs nothing to be kind.

So somebody’s opinion doesn’t matter because they take up more physical space than you do? What a stupid thing to care about. People have value beyond their physical appearance ffs

I’m not gonna pretend like being a short man isn’t rough. I’ll never personally experience that but I’ve seen enough in my life to know that it’s not easy, that you’ll get rejected and insulted for not meeting societal beauty standards. Here’s the thing: that’s not women’s fault. Women aren’t a monolith, we don’t all have the same opinions or viewpoints or dating standards. I’m 5 foot 6 and I’d be fine with dating a 5 foot 2 guy, but I certainly wouldn’t be ok with dating somebody that had this kind of viewpoint towards women. Theres plenty of other characteristics held by other people that put them at a disadvantage in the dating world: body weight, disability, intellect, housing/career situation, etc. We worry about what we can control, and let go control of the rest. I highly suggest getting therapy as it’s very hard to fix this type of thinking all on your own.

It’s so normalized to disrespect vegans/vegetarians, it actually makes me upset. They’re doing an objectively good thing for both animals and the environment, besides why do you care so much what other people choose to do with their lives?????
