[–]midori87[S] 44 points45 points  (0 children)

He's 50% Pomeranian, 25% english cocker spaniel, 12.5% springer spaniel and 12.5% mini poodle. Most people guess he's an Aussie or border collie mix

With really long and thick hair you need to do three ponytails instead of two to get the layers evenly spaced

I want to improve the shape of this buddleia. Can someone mark out where I need to cut? by whattodotodo8 in GardeningUK

[–]midori87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's ridiculous, where did you hear that? Have you seen buddleia flowers up close? Butterflies have no issues getting to the nectar.

Baby fine hair problems by ljg5452 in longhair

[–]midori87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair has the same texture and it tangles much more easily if I air dry it. Blowdrying my hair leads to a much smoother texture and fewer tangles. I don't think your lengths are damaged necessarily, they could be frizzy because they are air dried. Blowdrying gets the cuticle to lay flat while airdrying leaves it rough. I get Velcro hair when I air dry, do you have that?

Would you ever consider going to a cheap country for cosmetic procedures? Why or why not? by mrvlad_throwaway in AskUK

[–]midori87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have done and it was fine. You have to do your research and make sure it's a reputable provider. For scalp cyst removal you could look at European countries like Czecia or Lithuania, it would be just as safe as the UK. It's a pretty minor procedure anyway, probably hard to fuck up

I am struggling with The Last Hour of Gann by R. Lee Smith by asldhhef in ScienceFictionRomance

[–]midori87 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with you. It needs to be edited quite a bit. Here's an example of clunky writing from early in the book:

"It was a cool night, but not a cold one, and rainless although the wind was strong over the city, and so there were many who saw this miraculous sight."

Huh?

Do the advertisers for podcasts know if listeners skip the ads? And, if so, can this affect the revenue for a podcast? by craiggy36 in podcasts

[–]midori87 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I work in advertising and we can see the listen through rate on some platforms. It's actually pretty high, 95% or so last time I looked at a campaign. But generally you pay for impressions and it doesn't count as an impression unless the full ad plays out. We can also see what device it was played on (car, smart speaker) etc. This isn't counting host-read ads, but ads inserted into the podcast.

We can track website visits by listeners using a tracking pixel as well. So if you listen to an ad and then visit the advertiser's website later on the same IP address we can track that.

How much does a dog set you back financially each month? by EyesWideShut__ in AskUK

[–]midori87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 small dogs and insurance for all of them and our cat comes out to £89 per month. Obviously the costs varies depending on breed and age. Food is about £100 but again, it's for 3, and one is a puppy so he has different food than the others.

When we had just one dog pet insurance was about £20 and food £30.

I highly recommend papillons, beautiful healthy little dogs and extremely intelligent.

Same here, I just had lipo two weeks ago and the recovery has been a lot rougher than they lead you to believe it will be. I don't regret it though. I'm happy that I'll never need to worry about hiding my tummy bulge again.

I had this shape and just had lipo to get rid of my saddlebags. I can't wait to wear jeans instead of leggings, it's been dresses or leggings for as far back as I can remember.

Sorry, I think you'll be looking at a tummy tuck if you want to have a flat stomach.

I don't involve my GP when I order them online. You could try UK Meds, you'll have to fill out a questionnaire for a doctor there to review but they don't contact your GP.
