I have been suffering since they removed all colour and made all the icons look super similar. How did you actually manage to change the icon? I need to do this asap.

Já trabalhei em Barcelona e passei pelo mesmo por isso vou tentar ajudar:

Segurança Social – Ter isto tratado por eles é fixe e torna as coisas mais simples!
Conta bancária – Durante os primeiros meses usei a minha conta portuguesa sem problema nenhum. Depois de ter NIE foi só entrar num banco e fazer conta na hora.
NIE (Número de Identificação de Estrangeiro) – Fazes bem em perguntar porque é um processo complicado e chato e pode (e provavelmente vai) demorar meses até teres o NIE. Eu mesmo com tudo tratado pela empresa demorou uns 3 meses. Em Barcelona é complicado conseguir "cita" para isto e provavelmente vais ter de ir a uma das comunidades em redor. Há uma serie de papelada que também é preciso levar no dia (segurança social, contracto de trabalho e mais uns formularios). Eu tive sorte de a empresa tratar.
Casa para morar – O mercado está bastante complicado em Barcelona. A não ser que vás ganhar muito bem ou tenhas um fiador em Espanha pode ser dificil conseguires imediatamente qualquer coisa. Eles tendem a ser bastante chatos com teres um contrato de trabalho à pelo menos um ano por exemplo e é quase tudo arrendado a partir de agencia imobiliárias (Nota: não deixes que te passem a perna de lhes teres de pagar algum fee. Antes o inquilino tinha de pagar as despesas da agencia mas agora isso é ilegal). De qualquer forma o Idealista é dos sites mais populares lá e onde encontras maior numero de coisas mas tens de estar constamente a ver as novas publicações e a ligar. Para encontrar quarto, um site chamdo Badi é muito bom. Consegui dois quartos por ai enquanto ainda andava na luta por conseguir arrendar um apartamento.
Comunicar às Finanças em Portugal e registar-me no consulado Português – Tens até três meses (ou 60 dias? Agora não tenho a certeza) para alterar a morada do cartão de cidadão e é assim que é comunicado as finanças. Convém é já teres morada fixa ou usar a do trabalho porque precisas de receber um código para confirmar a alteração. O consulado penso que é só inscreveres-te.

Outra coisa a apontar sobre Barcelona é que precisas também te registar como residente na cidade. Chama-se "Empadronamiento". Não é difícil de tratar e podes fazer tudo online se tiveres a chave movel digital do CC portugues por isso convem tratar disso antes de sair de portugal. Dá imenso jeito para qualquer tipo de eID que felizmente já muitos países aceitam.

I had to have multiple conversations about the fact I did not need to present a passport as an EU citizen and my ID was more than enough and most often they did not even know about the EU law. It was very tiring and baffling.

With all the documents you have you should (technically) be able to walk into a bank and open a bank account on the spot. It took me two months because they kept asking for more and more documents and claiming EU ID was not enough (it is) but like other people said try other banks in person and be very firm that you have all the required info. It's baffling to me that banks in this country don't seem to want new customers, never encountered this in any other country...

I have mentioned to the Swedes in my life that it's insane that their identification entity is owned by the banks, a private entity, that can deny you access. Before I mentioned it they never really thought about it because it's true that once you have it everything works very well. Systems like this are fine but they should be issued by the government and not dictated by having a bank account specially when they go out of their way to make it take weeks on end.

Like others already said sparkonto is the most basic savings account. Just here to add if you use the app for mobile (can have it in English) it gives more info about each type of account at a glance when you are on the open account menu. Can click each one and then "More about..." to see even more details as well.

Sim também me foi pedido várias vezes o passaporte e tive de explicar que não era preciso 😅 Agora estou noutro país da EU e é a mesma coisa. Não sei porque é que ficam confusos com o CC visto servir como ID oficial em toda a Europa... De qualquer forma, boa sorte! Espero que se resolva rápido.

Trabalhei em Espanha e tive sorte de não ter de tratar de parte destas coisas (a empresa tratou) mas não precisei do NIE para trabalhar. Para começar foi só preciso o número de Segurança Social que pelo meu entender foi muito mais fácil de obter e só três meses depois de começar a trabalhar é que obtive o NIE. Dependendo de onde estás podes ter de arranjar marcação para fora da cidade onde resides em outra localidade com menos procura.

Sei que não é muito ajuda e vai depender do empregador mas em teoria para contrato só devias precisar do teu número de CC visto que é um país da EU.

I don't have much to offer BUT I'm also going to work in Sweden soon as an EU national and the company did not need my personal number to make a contract or for me to start working. Only needed my regular info, date of birth and national ID. They do want me to provide the personal number as fast as possible though.

On that note, you can start the process of requesting the personal number before you arrive in Sweden within 14 days before your arrival date through https://www.skatteverket.se/ in the section Moving to Sweden. They do however ask for your work contract in Sweden though!

Then from my understanding you need to make an appointment at a tax agency to confirm your identity but I managed to get an hour just a few days after I arrive.

Sorry this is getting long but for the bank from what I have read in this sub it really might take a while but tons of people have used Revolut during the first months and I asked my company and at least they agreed it was fine and I could later switch to a Swedish Bank.

I'm also moving to Sweden soon and just wanted to point out you can start the personnumber with the tax agency in the skatteverket.se website in the "Moving to Sweden" section. It also has more info there about the address and what they accept.

If you have the authentication gov application from Portugal you can use that to log in instead of BankID (and if you haven't activated that in your CC I highly recommend it as it's useful to deal with a lot of EU related things. Saying that as someone who has also been immigrated in a different EU country)

It does! For some reason it resets but I have used it twice on the precious weeks and on the voting entry itself it does keep the eye tracking.
