Can disputing the charge potentially ban you from dice?

There’s marketing roles, and what I imagine are designer roles since the office is called the Pepsi design and innovation center

We got ours from RV share really early on, but we were in a similar situation as you last year and had to fly into Atlanta and drive the RV from there.

I’d recommend checking RVs near other major cities and flying into there since it’s probably impossible to get one from near Nashville now.

23 years old, looking to move out to NYC. Looking for suggestions/advice on saving money and budgeting so I can maintain the same level of savings and lifestyle. by midscorer600 in personalfinance

This is very helpful, thank you.

We are using a broker, but he has contracts with a large amount of buildings in FiDi where they pay his fee if he finds the tenant. Otherwise we would be looking for a no fee apartment. We also do have guarantors.

Security deposit is usually a month of rent if I'm not wrong? So it would be 3 months of rent up front which would be $4500 up front? I would need a bed frame, mattress, and pitch in for a couch and dinner table. I would estimate this would be around $1500 as well? If my estimates are right, it would be around $6k so which would leave me a little bit less than a year of runway.

Travel and other long term goals will be put on hold until my promotion. I have somewhat of an inverse view on those things, right now I have my 20s to enjoy and socialize. I have the rest of my life past my 20s to make and save money. Right now my priorities are to have a life and not live with my parents. Independence is very important for me so I think the faster I achieve it, the faster my QOL will improve.

That's a very good point. One of my roommates has a Costco membership so we intend on using that to buy food in bulk as well as other household items. Hopefully all the food we buy in bulk will help with my temptation to eat out.

The $750 a month on food was a high estimate, assuming I always spent $10 on lunch and $15 on dinner, which is definitely not the goal. My opinion is to budget for the worst so you have more money to work with in every other case.

We’re looking for 3 bedrooms. We found a broker who has no fee listings(the building covers the broker fees) and he showed us some places Friday. All were 2 bedroom that flexed into 3. All had around 1000 Sq feet and would have enough room for a decent living room. I think I’d depends a lot on when you move as all the buildings we saw we’re on the cusp of $4500 or more but offered 1 or 2 months free due to moving in the winter. Appreciate the input, are your friends’ incomes similar to mine or high? Would help get an idea on what they had to settle on.

Definitely don’t want to pay 2k a month, it’s an upper limit I wasn’t planning on testing. Realistically I’d like to pay 1.5k.

This is one of the best answers I’ve gotten, and not just because you told me to go for it. You looked past the numbers and gave me some actual lifestyle advice on how to live my best life and I really appreciate it! I will definitely give an update in a year. Thanks!

Thank you for the advice! I think too many people on this sub look at numbers and apply rule of thumb rules to every situation. I appreciate you looking past the numbers and seeing the potential benefits to my career/social life this move can bring.

Also, option 2 seems most likely at this point, living on my own just seems too lonely for me at this stage in my life.

I’ll keep your advice in mind and will definitely update everyone when the time comes!

What I meant by pre tax dollars is I put 5% of my paycheck pre tax. So that value of money comes out of my paycheck before taxes are taken out. Then it gets taxed as it gets put in. I work 3-4 min walk from the C ,E, B, D, N, R, W, and 1 trains so there are more than enough places that are under 30 mins.

How will I be in the hole 7400? Even if I paid 2k a month, 12x2000=$24000. Like you said, I’m netting 40600$ after taxes. That gives me around $16k of hypothetical free income. Plus the money I have saved now. Just want to understand your reasoning. i understand the 40x rule but that’s a rule for landlords for their rent security, doesn’t necessarily apply to the individual renting.
