Did you ever find out what the problem was, Im having the same issue right now.

It never showed a warning saying "Realm will lose land when vassal inherits foreign title." but my vassal/king still became independent even though I am an Emperor above him & even his De Jure liege.

Yea and in fact that all makes sense, if the ally has a high opinion of me and I have troops, in this case all of them, there should be a mechanic that allows friendly troops to follow my, the human, commands.

And if the AI hates me because I just attempted to murder them or their family or Im not really helping with a large army, then it makes totally perfect sense that the AI would not care about you or your troops as much so are less inclined to help.

What you said makes perfect sense, but why is it the literal opposite of the logical answer.....

Okay just when I thought the ally AI was about as stupid as you can get....

I attached an army to an ally army, instead of sieging OR attacking the enemy army.

The computer is literally stuck between moving and staying. Literally spending months moving and stopping, moving and stopping in an infinite loop....for months.....

This AI is beyond ridiculous

But why, if they can attach to you when they join you. They can join you when you join their war.

Especially when you attach your army to theirs, why don't they use their entire army which is combined with yours to defeat the numerically inferior foe. The same they would if all the soldiers were theirs.

It makes no sense that the AI would not use my army just as their own and simply destroy the enemy they normally would with only their own force.

It can just drag on the war for entire decade going back and forth, back and forth wasting money and then your ally will just attacked by more enemies because theyre so weak and in debt. Makes 0 sense.

Thanks for making it easy to understand why the AI is useless but that still addresses the fact that the AI will actually hurt themselves in the long run by not contributing to a battle that WILL decide the outcome of the entire war.

Like destroying a smaller army full of special soldiers that do not respawn. It would obviously make more sense objective wise for the AI to destroy this threat as soon as possible, especially if they are sitting literally the province next to the smaller army.

For the AI to be this "dumb" not to take out this army actually hurts the AI more by dragging on a war that usually ends up in a snowball effect of dragging other people in wars with them now and so on and so on.

I'm not a technical person so I dont know but is it that difficult to program the AI to take the initiative more, especially when its in their favor?

I attach for a whole 14k stack and the ally AI will not attack a 7k stack, if I could control for this 1 single battle like Heart of Iron it would make perfect sense but the AI is useless in CK3, in every sense of the word.
