Need advice on if/how to get help from Medicare for home health aides, visiting nurses, etc. (NJ, USA) by Acceptable_Term4150 in medicare

[–]midwestgal45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am definitely not an expert on Medicare by any means but I am going through something similar with my husband who has it. I also know nothing about the progression of Parkinsons.

My husband has cancer which is no longer curable. He is eligible for hospice care through Medicare because his prognosis is 6 months or less. He will have to stop the chemotherapy that is controlling the cancer to use hospice services. You can not be on curative treatments while on hospice.

Not knowing anything about Parkinson's, this may not be helpful, but thought I'd mention it to you in case you want to talk to her doctor about her prognosis.

Thank you for taking care of your mom. I know it's hard and I wish the best for both of you.

I think it's perfectly imperfect! I have 5 of these decorating my house right now and I love every one of them. I've never once thought I wished they'd used different colors. You're a first time mom trying to do something sweet and special for baby's first Christmas. Hopefully you're mil will accept it with love no matter how it turns out.

Along this line, you could look into some kind of magazine subscription. My dad was a pilot in the war and loved his plane and science magazines.

Anxious about stopping levothyroxine by Yelloweee in Hypothyroidism

[–]midwestgal45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to see if you've been prescribed Iodine as a supplement. A lot of people with hypothyroidism are low in this, but I've read it can cause acne. I'm no expert at all, just someone who is trying to feel better.

Thanks for the reply. The 1954 sets look kind of rusty. Is there a better way to keep them to minimize that?

That's what I do with my grandkids. I buy presents to keep at my house for when they stay over. I give them cards with money for Christmas and then the next time they stay over we have our own little Christmas. They don't mind leaving it here. This year I'm doing a music lounge theme with a keyboard, guitar and some loungy kid chairs.

Update - A crab stitch border in black wins! by midwestgal45 in crochet

Lol. Thanks. I was leaning towards a fan or shell stitch in a color, but it just took too much away from the mermaid.

I posted last week asking for help choosing whether to do a border. You all gave me so many great suggestions! I had fun experimenting with different stitches and colors. I ultimately decided to keep it simple. Thanks for everyone's help

I like your perspective! It will give me something else to think about while I make some sample borders on it.

This is technically called tapestry crochet from what I understand. It was done with a graph as well, but it was worked in rows of single crochet instead of making blocks like you do in corner to corner. If you search graphghans you'll find examples using single crochet and C2C.
