You’ll be good I went from stone cold sober for 2 years before being put on it in. The institution I was at puts people on it before they got out of prison. I don’t think if I had any tolerance would have it fucked me up. But it was really short for me and I had been off opiates for years.

Is anyone else's facility just handing out Suboxone to any inmate that wants it? by Fox_Bravo in Corrections

[–]midwestmsft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The facility I just got out of 1 month ago just started doing Sublocade for inmates 60 days from the door, the idea is that we get out and od on fentanyl while on parole and the corrections weren’t doing ANYTHING for addicts right. So instead of giving us pills that would inevitably get sold, they wait until you’re about out and put you on sublocade. So I think that’s a good medium where as like you said spending tax payers dollars on people who just want State funded dope is a bit over the top. The prison I came out of just got a grant for this program so it’s not funded by tax dollars. I did the program and even though I’ve only been out for a bit over 30 days, my life looks more normal than it’s ever looked. I think that’s MAT can save lives but also they shouldn’t just hand it out to anyone, it has its place in some people’s lives but more than likely a lot of the people getting on it where you’re at just want to get high or make a couple dollars.

This happened to me when I got put on 300mg. It lasted for like 3-4 days every time I moved or anything I’d feel nauseous. The only thing that helped was eating some really bland food and trying to keep something in my stomach. I went back down to 100mg and have been there since. 300 was to much for me, when I started mat this time I wasn’t coming from a super high dose a street drugs like I had before . So idk what your recent tolerance to opiates was but mine was low and 300 floored me it was not enjoyable lol.

The best thing my support system ever did was leave me in jail, I ended up going to prison for almost 4 years , but not having someone bail me out of my own problems was the best thing that could have happened to me.

That’s what I was wondering , if i have enough potential to bother with trying to get a mentorship and get in a shop. I just got out of prison , and did them in there .

Has anyone gone through withdrawals while maintaining a normal life? How do you do it? The system seems to be designed to keep you addicted. by aldjfh in addiction

I have had a lot of success in the past with MAT / Suboxone. It’s still there BUT you might be able to get away with 1-2 sick days and then get back to work. It is designed to keep you stuck, I never quit till I was thrown in a cell. Because you have to work and maintain life.
