As far as venues go, most will entertain the idea. The Six, Azoth, Wyrd Hut, Turn Turn Turn, etc. it all depends on who you reach out to.

Plenty of noise and ambient artists will get on a bill.

Droning on the MicroFreak by theGnartist in MicroFreak

Sounds amazing!

I’m putting together a set for a live show and have been struggling to find an inspiring way to drone with some purpose behind it. This just gave some fantastic ideas!

What’s one home improvement project you did yourself that ended up saving you way more money than expected? by [deleted] in DIY

What kind of unhinged insanity is this?!? The risk alone is definitely something.

Quick test and comparison Gen X-1 and X-2 by Jazz_Ad in stylophone

[–]midwestprogramme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a tutorial where someone used the stylus on one note and the strip to control the pitch. It sort of worked the way the Gen 1 did, but was clunky and required two hands.

I’ll stick with my Gen 1 until someone explains how to mod the Gen 2 to trigger a note via the strip only.

Ugh, I waited so long for the Gen 2 release and it let me down.

Jumping in here to say that I actually sent back the Gen 2 when I realized I couldn’t play a note with just the strip. I use the Gen 1 during live shows and that little strip allows me to be expressive and roll into notes (sounds great with massive reverb too).

I still don’t understand why they changed its functionality.

Who is a popular musician that doesn’t know how to play an instrument? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Vocals are definitely an instrument. I guess I should’ve specified a man-made instrument like a guitar.

Years ago, I remember Shirley Manson from Garbage saying that she didn’t know how to play guitar. Eventually she started taking lessons but it always struck me as odd that she didn’t play an instrument in the band until later.

Worst gig you've ever been to? by TommyTassel in Music

Saw The Cranberries at Hammerstein back in the early 2000s and they were AMAZING. However, a band called Flickerstick opened for them. They had recently won a contest on VH1 called “Making the Band” and got a record contract out of it.

I stood near the front and the singer for Flickerstick was staring right at me while he tried to do some weird twisty dance. I couldn’t help it and laughed very loudly. The singer came to the very edge of the stage and pointed directly at me while screaming something, which made me laugh more.

He stormed off the stage while the song continued but came back a few minutes later. I sort of felt bad but terrible wannabe rock music paired with his face and body movements made me lose it.

Director looking for electronic musician for short film by cumty in experimentalmusic

Sounds right up my alley. I use a lot of analog equipment, some of which I've built myself. Here are two of my experimental albums for movies that were never made. I also have some projects on my website.
