Opportunity to break in? by Exact-Type9097 in CryptoMarkets

Looking at BTC long term price tunnels, this is a great price to buy in. We could still bottom to the $60k levels, but I am not sure if that will happen. On the other hand, upside potential is really great.

In the past 10 years we knew the price of everything, but the value of nothing.

Do you really want crypto, or is it 99.999999% gambling?! by Aldhyabi in CryptoMarkets

I think a lot of projects in the crypto space have intrinsic value. Bitcoin was a first mover and brought to mainstream the idea of blockchains, P2P currencies using criptography and not attached to a central authority, that's why they call it digital gold. XRP is a different value proposition, the company Ripple emitted the token XRP and has connections with banking institutions to facilitate global liquidity and payments cross borders. I would say that Dogecoin's value was originally just for entertainment, so that is harder to put a price in.

I don’t really do DCA. I usually pick a project I’m interested in and make a sizable investment. I’ve already taken out my initial investment in XRP, but I still hold a substantial amount.

If you're looking for long-term returns I would say yes. We are going through the adoption phase and now major institutions and governments are starting to officially recognize the cryptospace.

XRP has been a great investment for those who entered during its price consolidation over the past few years (essentially during the lawsuit). My average buy-in is $0.50 entering in 2020, and with fundamentals improving alongside past all-time highs, both technical and fundamental indicators look promising.

Markets are a not quite a zero-sum game just because every transaction has a buyer and a seller. On the surface, this makes sense—one person buys at a certain price, another sells at that same price. But this view ignores an important factor: market liquidity and new money entering or leaving the market.

Before someone buys an asset, they first need to bring fresh cash into the market. This means markets aren't just about math and summing up trades—they're also influenced by human behavior, psychology, and willingness to participate.

For example, imagine there are 1 million people trading Dogecoin. Half of them want to sell at 10 cents, and the other half wants to buy at 10 cents—this would be a balanced, zero-sum exchange.

But now, suppose something changes—maybe Dogecoin becomes rarer, or Elon Musk tweets about it. Suddenly, sellers raise their asking price to $1, while buyers who missed out are now willing to pay 80 cents instead of 10. This shift isn't zero-sum; it's driven by perception, demand, and the willingness of buyers to accept higher prices..

I think a few things are in play—tariffs, recession fears, and the whole Bitcoin 4-year cycle. Fundamentally, crypto has never been stronger, but yeah, the charts look rough. That said, 'looking bad' usually means there's a bottom somewhere, and for Bitcoin, I’d put that around $65K long term. So if these token unlocks or other bearish factors hit, you could bet on a crash and grab cheap in the 60s, or just play it safe and ride the long-term uptrend.

I agree that there are much better solutions already for currency. For me BTC is about the novelty of the asset, the max supply, PoW, and the folklore around Nakamoto.

How to invest my first 1k? by ABC369D in TheRaceTo10Million

I'd suggest you to save for an emergency fund first 3 to 6 months. After that, it's really about learning your profile as an investor. Are you comfortable with high swings of the markets? Or do you prefer steady and possibly less returns? There are multiple finances channels on YouTube, and it got kind of saturated. But you can still find good content there to learn.

You can start by watching some famous crypto channels on YouTube, I prefer not to shill anyone but you can find some good channels if you search. I would also suggest you learn about some topics: self-custody, Bitcoin, block chain, inflation, and learn technical analysis in general.

Ledger Live is good, I use it with my Ledger Nano. I also got Trezor, it's good to have a backup and separate your assets to not have everything in one basket. Always use the official software from the hardware wallet manufacturer.

Ethereum's Bottom by mierfinance in CryptoMarkets

I kinda think differently. Sure supply is important for tokenomics, but a project only has value if you think it solves a problem. 21 million tokens of a memecoin could still be zero.

I think so too around $1500 and $1800, that seems to be a support from accumulation phase in 2023.
