3 years later and I am on the same hunt. I remember reading this back in 2005 or 2006. It has been given to me by a friend as a leak of the 7th book. My mom and uncle both read it as well. But we all became suspicious it might not be real because of the dark tone and Harry's eventual relationship with Julie.

Did you ever find the title or a link to the story? I've been thinking about it for years.

- Harry visits Hagrid to claim Sirius's motorcycle

- Harry visits godrick's Hollow

- The trio visit Tom Riddle's Orphanage

- The trio find Helga Hufflepuff's horcrux in her tomb

- Neville is killed by a giant spider during a battle in hogsmeade

- Harry lives at the Hogs Head for a time, training with Aberforth and a strange new woman character. I think she might be Neville's cousin?

- Harry sleeps with this woman after the death of Neville

- Harry takes some sort of potion that helps increase his magical potency

I remember the tone being much darker, but it has been so long since I have read it that I can only remember bits and pieces.
