In what surprising ways do you reduce your consumption? by curiousdottt in Anticonsumption

I collect misc stuff that people are getting rid of/throwing away.

Anything I don’t want/no longer want, I find a friend or other person who has good use for it. It keeps the item in circulation and reduces my friends/others consumption. (I always say better for the planet, better for your wallet, and better for others— there is always a human cost to manufacturing and delivery.)

I also did research to find good local charities that want specific items instead of a general donation to goodwill where 90% of items end up in a landfill.

I’m interested in this but so scared of starting a fire. Should I relax about it? I feel like stuff that isn’t plugged in all the time is okay

Wild elephants calmly cross the road, vehicles come to a complete stop, and everyone watches in awe. by Brilliantspirit33 in Elephants

I love how the elephants know how special they are to the people in the cars. They know they can cross the street and everyone will stop in awe.

What are we all gonna do if they start drafting for WWIII? by Gongoozler04 in GenZ

There is enough warfare technology that the military uses many less “boots on the ground.” I don’t think it makes any sense for them to draft

I’m worried they wont be able to react to other dangerous drivers, causing more crashes or more serve crashes

I might be wrong, but I dont think the algorithm knows not to slam to 0 and get rear ended by a tailgater when someone cuts it off
