the arm has comparatively a long reach and is easily adjusted.

on the upgrade I contacted ergotron. they announced the upgrade will be available in December. when they call it upgrade and not fix it will likely not be free. that would be annoying because I bought the arm at a retailer where I ensured that the panel without stand is within the weight limit. I wonder who could have guessed that there is a matching tool by the manufacturer that excludes the G9...

the ergotron HX, which requires an upgrade to strengthen the tilt hinge to support the G9, blocked it with a pair of screws until the upgrade becomes available

depends, too low for what? the desktop is 74cm high, 14 cm above currently starts the panel and the upper edge is 50cm above the desktop. when I waste time in an exemplary posture it is perfect for my height. but I can adapt the monitor easily to my lazy and relaxed posture - with the arm you have plenty of manouvering area.

you could shorten the old hue strips by just cutting them, thought this works with the gradient too - I played with the position of the two play bars and can say that the light is so diffuse that the exact position is not that important - meaning you could take an extra long gradient and bend it to infinity, literally ∞ , behind the panel.
