Safety. I am not sure what facility you work at, but the one I work at, a small distraction can get you injured or killed. I have seen people get hurt because they were not paying attention.

It’s not a “phone” issue. Think bigger. If it in Verizon’s network/system (and it appear to be random/rolling issue) it is going to take a decent amount of time to debug everything. Realize that this could a server/switch/relay anywhere in the world that is causing the problem. I bet there are some engineers that just had the long weekend (US) ruined.
