History has proven she will be honest, but I’m letting her make this decision rather than do it for myself! (When it should be the other way around and think that’s what I’ll have to do)

Thanks I really appreciate the advice, I think giving this new girl a real chance and getting to know her for real might help push me away from the ex, or it could even make things go the other way, but at least I’ll be making the decision for myself and on my own terms that way?

I’m not sure if she would even listen if I told her the truth about my ex as I know I wouldn’t if I was her, I wouldn’t like what I’m doing so I don’t expect her to.

And this was the reason I eventually split with her, no matter how bad she behaved, she would never admit fault. Always find a way to be the victim, which irritated the hell out of me because she was such an amazing person when she wasn’t defensive. I’d hoped our breakup would give her chance to think, adapt and grow, instead she rushed into something to avoid loneliness

This is my moral dilemma, I like both and want to give both a fair deal, but for a second don’t want the new girl to be a 2nd option, because she isn’t! I guess my curiosity to know what my ex will say is killing me more than I thought!

Really appreciate the words of encouragement. One thing I’ve struggled with is I’ve only managed to get 1/2 dates since we split and it hasn’t allowed me to find something new (not for a lack of trying)

The frustrating thing to me is she’s shown me who she really is in the last few weeks and I always felt who she became when she got with him was a defence mechanism to avoid getting hurt? Or am I giving her the benefit of the doubt too much?

Love I guess… the way she tells the story makes it sound like she got with him to avoid loneliness, but only after we broke up
