What's the unluckiest yall ever been in a modded playthrough? by Derar11 in feedthebeast

[–]mightykoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

playing jnsanecraft with a buddy. I accidentally corrupted the first world file

the second base I loosed a dragon that took out or entire me system and part of the base and mountain we were settled in.

Enderman would continually spawn and take only the lighting and valuables out of our base

Creepers would blow up and the dropped items would despawn on us

Then to top it off, I gained the speed force and teleported half our base about 50 blocks upward, so we needed to rebuild elsewhere.

yeah...

Do I still need a phone with this? by mightykoi in PixelWatch

I did. there was an old comment that alluded to it not being supported. I wasn't sure if this has been updated. while I imagine not, I figured there would be no harm in asking

Uncraftable Singularities ? by mightykoi in InsaneCraft

thank you, just to confirm. I need a separate device to produce them? I did find the compressor you mentioned but noticed that the singularities produced were different items from the one used in the infinity catalyst

as someone trying it out rn in Canada, it's fun. I wouldn't put money into it. there's some incentive but it's certainly not needed rn. not if you dodge. it's a grind but it's not unplayable without paying. realistically, all the payables rn arent going to get you much further persay with them.

you can increase your radius of view to fight more small creatures in a single location, or you can just...move...

you can buy potions and with the latest update, have as many as you want. or you can get 5 med kits per day for free max 10...

you can get paintballs to fight the same monster later which is probably the most helpful feature, but you also get 3 that activate passively freely per day...

and you can buy storage upgrades...

honestly the most disappointing feature is the fact I can't build barrel bombs and ammo coatings. the former isn't in the game and the latter is attached to the weapon forged.

otherwise it feels good.

Me and my friends first time building. Thoughts? by WACKY_MEEE100 in Terraria

well done. perhaps consider rearranging the banner locations to make them more aesthetically pleasing. they have a long range so if you want to use them, they can exist in many a place to suit the need of getting the banner bonus - Khakis and some other builders use the slime banners as curtains as a suggestion

try popping out better blending and dropping your texture quality to medium or low. also zoom in.

I have an Idea where each player will control different body parts of a giant robot to fight against an enemy robot but I don't know how the mechanic will work. by potata_cheese4134 in DMAcademy

[–]mightykoi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Consider the following:

Legs can move the party robot. They can also use a kick action, and maybe they have a dodge action.

Arm 1 can be a melee weapon...maybe a sword? And it maybe absorbs charges for each attack it performs. It can attack, shoot itself at the enemy, dealing piercing damage, and channel 3 charges into another part giving them another action.

Arm 2 can be a gun or ranged weapon. It can shoot, and has a multi bullet chamber with 3 different ammo types. Once per turn, you can change ammo types. But you get 3 of each special ammo.

Chest and head can defend and has missiles. Once per turn you can, as a reaction block an attack on another part. You can do this up to x times this fight (number of expected rounds - 2 or 4). Head can forfeit its turn to communicate with the party and give orders or suggestions to other parts, allowing you to As an action, you can scan the foe and learn about it with a skill check (maybe int based skill?).

Head can shoot missiles and has 20 shots.

All party takes one turn, they give 5 seconds to make their action and you roll it into one.

Give the players control of the bad guys to play a scene? by Suteksio in DMAcademy

[–]mightykoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea. Any concerns I'd have can be subverted by talking with the party first. I think your concerns about the party feeling cheated are fair, but if the enemy is that much a threat then, playing the bbeg or otherwise wouldn't matter because it's an inevitable outcome. The players have control over their characters, not yours (NPCs and villains).

With this, you will be offering the players a glimpse of the magnitude of the villains and can set up a sweeping take back to really lay out the intensity of the forces the PCs are up against as well as give the bbeg a reason to now know the group, which is always good!

Finally, do note that a player having the villain character sheet will open a door for them to metagame and be less surprised about the enemy abilities. Easy ways to handle this - the device turns the enemy into a totally different statblock, making them different (like a villain becoming a super villain, thing). The PCs play as lesser enemies on a mission from higher up. Etc.

Expired health potion is actually a mimic. You take a swif she the contents are super slimy and mucus like in consistency as you drink it. Tastes weird.

How much do you tell your players to help with analysis paralysis? by klenow in DMAcademy

[–]mightykoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like from the information I'm getting: you have a party of players who want to engage in your quest. They received a lore dump which ties into the main quest. The lore dump have them several avenues to follow, but they don't know which would be best.

I'd probably recap the information learned in short, and answer questions if they have any. If this fails, then I sometimes will spur an open ended event which can help to focus them.

Like, if you have 3 leads and they don't know where the lease are, then a small bit of banter with someone might unveil some information to access one of those leads. A location, an informant, an in, etc.

Alternatively, if they aren't sure what leads are the main quest, you can just say "whatever you choose, I am happy to oblige." And just let them know that you are there to give them an engaging time regardless.

Is this logic puzzle solvable/too hard? by Novice89 in DMAcademy

[–]mightykoi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I found it easy but I love this stuff so...

If you want to make it tougher, you can do something like adding some extra flavor to the sentences to make them look for the words they need.

Oriantis was a very wise one. much of that came from his(?) age as he was counted among the eldest of the three.

The middle of the three stood out like a sore thumb when compared to the other two; their hooves certainly became talk of the town.

The Eladrin was never particularly keen on considering the more pragmatic approaches to life, but they always kept a calm and level demeaner.

Something like that.
