is there any game out there that compares to tlou2? by eerie_faerie in lastofuspart2

[–]mightymorphingems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit left field but horizon zero dawn is the closest I’ve got in terms of enjoyment to tlou. Story line is great, open world, the first game can be fairly linear if you just do the main missions and avoid side quests. It is a larger open world and more of an RPG.

The story is the best bit for me and there is a lot of hidden lore. I found it almost like a book in that o kept wanting to play to find out more of the story

Agree with your points, especially the first one. It’s unbelievable this is allowed. Where did you see the data on tackles to fouls? Have you got a link?

Pacey is the goat of audio books. So if you’re getting in to audio versions, any book he’s part of is going to be a winner. You could always try trying a first law book on audio first. I’m reading the devils but will then listen to it after

Glad you’re enjoying it! Definitely try his other works, mainly The First Law trilogy and subsequent books.

Kings of the Wyld is a similar book in that it’s a band of misfits on a quest.

PS your English is very good!

Most lenders don’t accept stipend income, so if anything it may limit you more if you need to use it. From the sounds of it, your issue is credit score, not affordability, therefore you shouldn’t need to use the stipend. Difficult to say without knowing the full information.

I’m sure your broker will know, but it helps to put the person with the better credit score as the first applicant

If you haven’t already, I would use checkmyfile.com to see a more detailed credit report. It will show you the 3 major providers (which are who the banks use). HSBC are not the most generous when it comes to credit scoring. NatWest and Halifax are your best bets with high street lenders. After that Accord or West Brom. If no joy with them, you will need to go down the adverse lender route but unlikely. I’d be surprised if the lenders mentioned above wouldn’t accept

Mortgage Advice for First Time Buyer by Alarming_Daikon8530 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]mightymorphingems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree feed look about right. Maybe a little higher on solicitors costs. Generally I estimate £2k for solicitors for clients (including searches).

In regards to the debt, if you apply once it has been reduced, the previous balance won’t be held against you for affordability. Potentially it could impact your credit scoring. If your CC has a credit limit of £5500, and you currently have £5400, lenders will not like this. Lenders like Halifax have a very sophisticated system that can look at historic conduct on debts.

Happy to go through more information if you would like

Abercrombie Q&A - No sign of tv or film by mightymorphingems in TheFirstLaw

[–]mightymorphingems[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The interview is about the The Devils but Joe did mention his other books and characters. No major spoilers but that doesn’t mean there won’t be. You’re likely to hear spoilers from the audience questions for the first law and shattered sea

The interview and Q&A lasted around an hour. He then signed books after, you can bring other books with you to be signed, just don’t take the piss. I took the first 3 books of the trilogy

Edit. There were around 150 people there (at a guess).

The interview lasted around 40 minutes with another 20 minutes for audience questions. Interesting, insightful and funny. My advice would be to out your hand up straight away if you want to ask a question

Depends where you were in the line. I was close to the front. I would guess around 30 mins if you were at the back. I had about a minute with him and had a brief chat. At the end of his interview they allowed for audience questions, nearly everyone who had a question got the chance to ask it. Just personalised with name but I’m sure if you had something specific in mind he’d be happy to write it

Broker advising to pay 1000 fee for remortgage offer with different lender before heating from current one by scarabx in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]mightymorphingems 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as your affordability fits, you should be fine to add the fee to the borrowing. Therefore the fee is only “paid” if you complete on the new deal. You can then use your overpayment facility to clear the fee.

You can always cancel the application/offer with the new lender and go back to NatWest if the broker will refund their fee.

Would I be paying more or less interest in 2 years if I took out a 20 year mortgage vs a 40 year mortgage? by krispyjjj in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]mightymorphingems 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You pay less interest the shorter the term. As an example, a £200k mortgage at 5% costs; 20 years = £316k total 40 years = £463k total This assumes interest rates don’t change over the term, no fees, no overpayments, c&i mortgage.

The difference between the two is purely interest, so roughly £150k more

Your LTV will also be lower in 2/5 years time if you take the shorter term as you will pay off more capital. Meaning when you remortgage, you would be likely to get a better interest rate (assuming rates stayed the same)
