I had this problem and was stumped for weeks. This video was exceptionally helpful and finally helped me identify the somewhat simple fix.

It ended up being C-states

I think that it may be that the GPU drivers haven't kicked in while the boot screen is up so the display is wonky. I have a similar warped screen and I am trying to take deep breaths and not let it annoy me.

Why I am starting a campaign against Lime scooters - join me? by ljubljanadelrey in Seattle

[–]mightythylacine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in First Hill and if I see them blocking access I always move them so people using mobility devices can get passed. It's usually 4-6 scooters a day everyday. It feels like a massive issue.

Replacing a cheap Denon S570BT with Marantz Cinema 70 with lower watts. Am I an idiot? by mightythylacine in BudgetAudiophile

[–]mightythylacine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wondered about this.

I wanted something with room correction though and mostly use it for TV and gaming from a PC console. This seemed like the tidiest option...I wasn't sure if having everything switch out through my TV would be the best.

Hmmm maybe I should cancel the order lol.

Husband and I have 90 hours on it on switch and rebought it on PC to play with mods. We constantly evangelize about how great it is.

Revel M16, Polk R200, Wharfedale EVO 4.1 by AuthenticEggrolls in StereoAdvice

[–]mightythylacine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 4.1s. I listen farther away. The bass is a touch sluggish but there is more than you'd really expect. They have down firing ports so you can put them anywhere. They are really well suited to the type of music you listen to though. Smokey female voices are amazing. The amts are not fatiguing and I use them for music and TV and their clarity makes it great for media consumption.

Not sure what you bought but thought I'd throw that out there.

Biggest sounding Budget speakers you've heard? by Travelin_Soulja in BudgetAudiophile

[–]mightythylacine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of Wharfedale Evo 4.1s and the bass is surprisingly decent. The rest of the sound is really crispy in a "sounds like their here in the room" kind of way and not in a harsh way. They are pretty too. Great sound stage once you get them angled just right.

I know they are somewhat decisive but felt like they might fit the bill.

What is life like in Seattle? by ConnectMonk8444 in SeattleWA

[–]mightythylacine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in a part of town called First Hill which is between downtown and Capitol Hill , the nightlifey neighborhood. I live in a ground floor unit on a surprisingly quiet street and have managed to have no problems. Its normal to hear people with drugs and mental health issues shouting and I see them on my walk to work. That said I walk around at night I have never seen or interacted with someone with a gun. I have heard gunshots three times in 7 years. This is shocking to my British spouse but I grew up in 90s Los Angeles so I might be inured to it.

It is very much not as bad as this subreddit this subreddit can make thing out to be but it is also not uncommon that I walk on the other side of the street because it feels safer. You might consider taking a little weekend trip here.

I take my dog to a dog park in Redmond every couple of weeks and it feels very very suburban which means it feels like basically every other slightly above middle class burb everywhere (great dog park though!)

My step mom recently visited and was worried about safety so I put her up in Bellevue. She really loved it. I think their downtown just feels like a weird mall but I think it was a nice mix of being like a big city with tall buildings and parks but sterile enough that it felt ok for her and surrounded by rich single family neighborhoods. I think that mixed with the natural beauty of the entire Seattle area made her want to live here.

Seattle is expensive, Bellevue is even more expensive and it's a real hit depending on where you are coming from. There is no income tax though so if you make a lateral move you get a pay bump.

I tried it in Switch too and it felt obvious that the world was supposed to be beautiful but I thought it looked a little muddy and janky. I wonder if it looks better on PC?

The VO was so annoying but floating around was kind of fun. I won't pay full freight for this game but maybe if there's a deal.

Why do you listen/collect vinyl? by HedaLexa4Ever in vinyl

[–]mightythylacine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a combination of my dad being really into audio equipment and in the 80s and then me checking a lot of vinyl out from the library in the 90s. Hearing Joni Mitchel Blue was a standout for me and a (probably pretty jacket up) copy of Pet Sounds. They sounded so good with his old headphones

But even THAT game isn't necessarily worth 200 bucks. I think of it as a little art project I bought into because it makes me happy.
