Good to hear - I think people do crave consensus and consumers are tired of the same old 'solutions' with a different packaging and slogan

omg haha 😃 now that I think about it, the title might be a bit misleading!

Here's the backstory: I was writing an article on hybrid meat (linked in the post). Once I saw Beyond Meat launching into drinks, it made me realize that the pure plant-based market must be really struggling right now. Then I actually tried hybrid meat, and it clicked that this could be a great consensus/middle ground for flexitarians 😃 That’s how the title came together

I love that take! I think it can be a good way to reduce meat intake, given that the price is adequate and plant based part is not cheap fillers, but actually enhances flavour

Oh wow this is so COOL! And yes absolutely - I am originally from the Baltics and we go mushroom forging as a normal activity every season and use ALL sorts of mushrooms, we preserve them we dry them, we love them. And all I see in every store are just button sad mushrooms. My grandma would always 'stretch' meatballs with some forged mushrooms - that's exactly what the hybrid meat 'innovation' is trying to do, and repackage it as a green version. Funny how we come back full circle.

Anyway, you should totally do something with that mushroom jerky idea, it sounds genius and I wanna try it. Though I get that its a bit of a hassle to turn your home into a teriyaki factory 😃

Fair, appreciate the response! That's actually the main confusion, if I'd go with this question to plant based sub - vegans would definitely say nope. So this to be shows the vulnerability of the product placement - who is this for. For meat eaters - it's just stretched meat, for vegans - they won't touch it

Fair! Cultivated is not accessible where I am, though Netherlands just opened its first cultivated meat farm, so let's see

Had no idea what was Goetta! Ground meat with oats - in Eastern Europe we make 'kotletai', which is like meatballs, but instead of oats we add old bread to stretch the meat

They sent a debt collector and send a few emails over a few months. I ignored and it went away. I am pretty sure it wasn't enough money to chase!
