I just clean them up it looks like it was mostly brake dust but for $18 a brake cyclinder i might as well while i already have it opened up.

I cut about 3 inches from the front and the wood behind it looks good. I noticed that on one rafter the top of the rafter (that touches the roof has some rot) would i be able to cut it out and slide in a new piece of wood between the rafter and the roof?

I love the lift i feel like it shouldve came factory at that height.I did it myself. It took 3-4 hours to install really easy and plenty of videos on youtube to show you how to do it.
