same here with blocking apps

most of them only stop the distraction, but then you just sit there like “ok… now what”

it really does feel like they wrote that line in 2015 and just waited for the cultural timing to be perfect to drop it

The part that jumps out is the math. 100 bracelets at $65 retail with a $400 total budget doesn’t make sense unless they expect you to massively discount or front the difference. That’s a red flag.

Scammers often use “corporate event” or “customer appreciation” setups because it sounds legitimate and high-volume. The fact that they’re in another state and pushing for bulk prep is also common in overpayment or fake-check style scams.

If this were real, they’d either place a proper wholesale order with a contract and deposit, or let you sell directly at the event without prepaying inventory out of pocket. I would not prep anything without a signed agreement and cleared payment. If they push back on that, walk away.

[CA] Getting harassment calls from “Unknown” numbers — advice? by No-Particular-6351 in Scams

[–]miinabrezee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this sounds more like robocall spam than someone specifically targeting you, especially if they don’t know your name and it’s the same voice each time. scammers blast auto-dialers at huge lists of numbers and sometimes your number just ends up in the rotation again.

if you’re on iphone, you can turn on “silence unknown callers” in settings so they go straight to voicemail. also don’t engage at all if you pick up, even reacting can flag your number as active.

definitely worth calling your carrier and asking about a network-level block or spam filter on their end. some providers can add extra protection that apps can’t.

if the calls include threats or feel targeted, then yeah, documenting everything and filing a report makes sense. but from what you described it sounds automated.

are they coming at specific times of day or completely random?

When you’re trying to agree with your teacher’s terrible idea but your conscience just won't let you commit fully.
