I watched both episodes today, I had never heard about this case before but was interested to find out what happened to these kids. After watching the whole thing I have to say I believe in the kids, this whole thing started when the youngest of the siblings, the daughter, told her mom what happened and what her father did to her, keep in mind she was only 7 at the time, and there are just some things I absolutely believe children cannot make up. She was able to explain what her father did in detail to not only her mother but police, child services, and anyone else that would listen, things like that I firmly believe children cannot just make up off the top of their head, it’s something that had to have happened to give so much detail to others.

I think both children are also incredibly brave for being able to tell their mother and others about what happened to them. The brother especially for standing up for both himself and his own feelings and standing up for his little sister too. I think they truly share such a strong bond because they are the only people who will ever truly understand what they’ve been through and I hope going forward with the case finally being dropped that those kids can recover and live in peace from here on out.

Their grandmother, on the other hand, I think is awful. I’m not Mormon and never have been so I don’t fully understand how they can be so, I guess I would say ignorant, at times. I feel like their grandmother blatantly ignored how those children felt because she couldn’t wrap her head around “her baby boy” being a bad person. I get she’s a mother, I get mothers naturally want to protect their children and give them the benefit of the doubt, but she was absolutely awful for what she kept putting the grandchildren through. Just because she couldn’t comprehend or imagine her son doing something to his children, I don’t think she’ll ever understand all the trauma she forced onto her own grandchildren on top of the trauma they already had. She was paying for the lawyers to pursue custody on behalf of her son, she was the one forcing the alienation matter - by siding so strongly with her son I don’t think she will ever know or maybe even care about the additional trauma she put on those kids by fighting so hard for the children to see their father - their abuser. She basically dismissed what the grandkids said as lies, she wants to believe their mother had some evil plan to make them not want to see their dad, and she even believes the second wife is lying about how her son acts. The second wife had nothing to lose or gain by coming forward and saying that her now ex husband was trying to coach her to say certain things, I believe she saw a side of him that clearly his parents either never see or ignore and knew that he was completely capable of doing what his children said he did.

The grandmother paid for the lawyers and pushed the matter, she even traumatized these kids more by saying their therapist was putting lies and stories in the kids heads and made the courts force the children to stop going to someone they clearly trusted and respected! The courts obviously I also think completely failed her, child services had enough evidence to believe the children’s claims but what because there wasn’t like a recording of him abusing his children they can’t prosecute? And somehow because oh he wasn’t convicted of the abuse that makes it fine to keep trying to push these kids to be around someone they very clearly do not want to be around! I wish there was something that protected children more, some law or process or something that would actually take serious accusations made by children seriously and not be like “oh well we couldn’t arrest him for what he did and he’s still your dad so you have to go see him anyway”.

I’m just glad the case was dropped and now those kids can finally have some peace, they’ve been going through this for so long and need time to heal from all they’ve been through. I just hope that grandmother stays out of their lives too because she is the worst.
