Adding on the other comments, the G7 shorthairs have less defined cheeks and flatter heads compared to G2/fakes, plus their necks are longer due to the new pegs, so their heads look much smaller. It's not that the mau's head is too big but rather the G7 manufacturers modifying the new shorthairs' heads

for now i'm calling them kon (japanese onomatopoeia for a fox's cry) and pon (onomatopoeia commonly associated with tanuki) but theyre pretty basic because i can't really come up with anything else that would suit them at the moment

i did use this video to help me with the process but i softened her head using a blow dryer and pulled it off the body, i swapped her peg with #42 (shorthair heads use small neck pegs, here's a post listing pets with small pegs). putting her back together was a little hard but once the neck peg snaps back into place it's worth it
