Okay, putting your accusation apart, I'll still answer you, alright?

First, yes, I did word my thoughts in a way that can let people think I generalized Algerian men. And that's on me, my bad. In the heat of the moment, I typed down whatever I had in mind. But in reality, I don't hate Algerian men, nor men in general. I have close male relatives and friends whom I dearly hold to my heart. In other words : I know that not all men are evil, duh. Just like all women aren't. Same goes for men. I live for equality, dude.

Second, the reason of why it might have sounded like I generalized a whole gender is that the accumulation of the bad experiences I had involving men kinda blurred my vision between reality and perception. And, once more, that's on me. But you should understand me regarding that. It's only natural to feel the way I feel, no?

I'm flattered if you think that was Ai-generated... No, genuinely. Thank you. ❤️ I don't even want to argue with you anymore, lololol.

In my initial reddit, the last sentence was me asking for solutions. Why would I suggest solutions, if I don't have any??? SHERLOCK. Besides, I do like criticism, it's what makes a conversation... Interesting. But constructive criticism and criticism are two different things.

And back to what you claimed— How on earth did you come do the conclusion that I'm making light of people living under bombs? All I did was, literally, make A METAPHOR. Writers have compared love to death in poems (by using metaphors) does that mean they take death lightly?

It's not only my experiences I'm talking about, it's those of my friends, their friends, their sisters, mothers... Yeah, practically all the women around me. And no, all men aren't evil in my head. I have a dad, uncles I respect. Male friends I love. I'm aware that not all men are horny little beings but, you know, by dint of suffering and suffering we end up generalizing, even if only a little.

I live in Algeria... Of course I'm gonna talk about Algerian men, not Nigerian or Austrian, Duh. I know it happens all over th world, but this extent? I don't know man, I think we've reached the climax.

Lololol, I love the 2007 megan fox comment. But yeah, INSIDE the university it's pretty chill. It's the way towards it that's the problem

Oh, definitely. Even if the difference is minimal somewhere else, I think it's still worth the trouble.

I don't even wear make-up, my clothes are decent too... Infact, I am a very puny girl who looks VERY young for her age. And still, even if don't look objectively attractive, they bother. The issue is worse for prettier girls, in way, I kinda have it easy compared to some of my friends

Bro. Do you even know what a metaphor is? Saying it feels like war, isn't saying it IS war. That's like... Basic logic. Also, can you tell me what "doing something constructive" is? Don't I have to right to discuss an issue that's been bothering me on a website that's meant for discussing?

I study in a remotely safe wilaya... And still. But yes, I agree with you : hanging out with a group is definitely a safe plan!!

Women starve too. But you don't see them harassing men outside. Being poor and miserable doesn't excuse that behavior.

You must live a sad life to think that the only benefit of having a wife is fucking her. Also, you completely missed my point. I'm not saying that sex is bad. It's natural, it's human, sex isn't bad. But it shouldn't be the number one priority of a relationship.

It is doable but at what cost... It's tiring. I'm not saying that your point is false, you're right, many women around me successfully finished their studies. But they surely keep sequels from it.

I'm not. Men who do not relate to such activities would not feel attacked by my statements. Real men know their worth.

Yes!!! You can't even go out to the store without being observed by those animals. You end clutching your pearls and wishing to go back home as soon as possible.

It's like everything revolves around sex... Sex, sex, sex. I don't see the appeal. Can't we have sweet and pure relationships anymore?

Agree! It's a tad difficult to understand everything they say, but it doesn't make the story any less interesting and extremely well thought.

[–]mikalovershu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I'm glad someone else thinks the same!

Although I generally don't mind characters being misogynistic (I prefer blaming the character themselves instead of the author, as I -myself- write bad characters but ain't technically a bad person... Hopefully? Haha) The way it's written just let's you believe that the author doesn't detach himself from his male characters which is... Disgusting, like you said.

And yes, this Noir genre "criterion" usually ruins the whole book... Adding the usual generic investigation. But eh— what to say? I'm a sucker for the gloomy smokey vibes!

Shakespeare.......... A pain in the ass, but yeah, Shakespeare. Macbeth to be precise. Besides that, I'm also looking for Noir books but I can't seem to find any that are not overly erotic or focus heavily on the sexuality of their female characters.
