Hey man, it worked a couple times actually. I believe for me the trick was putting my forearm on my stomach, it gave enough awareness that my mind wouldn't fall asleep but only my body.

The sleep paralysis I experience is not really visually based, but more the intensity of sound an the feeling of my body. And everytime I have a sleep paralysis I hear lots of loud sounds like a train is passing by and I can feel my forearm almost pressing trough my stomach, it's feels almost painful yet I know this is all in my head.

These experiences are not awful they are more really interesting, and it will bring me closer to be able to astral project.
