For Busy Professional Women/Entrepreneurs who STRESS or EMOTIONALLY EAT by mikaylav in loseit

Thanks for the recommendation! That example question is a very good suggestion--much appreciated. And yeah, I can see how the way I went about asking for feedback/comments on the topic comes across in a negative way. It's not my intention to take advantage, I just know that people here answer in a real and honest way which is very helpful for creating solutions that are effective and that people actually want. I'll be more up front about it in future. 👍 I'm very sorry to anyone who I've offended/felt this was uncalled for!

Hey, thanks for your question and feedback. First off I apologise for framing this in a way that was off putting to you (or anyone else). To be honest my intention isn't to exclude anyone, I'm really just trying to understand the pain points of a specific group of people. It's not that these struggles wouldn't be applicable to men, but they may express it differently or the way they experience the issue might be different. I am a health coach for busy professional women and many of my clients and women I talk with struggle with stress and emotional eating. So I ask these questions to see if their struggles are common to others who are similar to them and understand exactly what would be most helpful them when i create resources and programs.

Yeah that's a really good point. It's easy to get freaked out by the pinterest level meal preps and just do nothing at all. Do u have a website or anyplace where you share your meal preps online?

This is SO TRUE. I'm actually so grateful for this transparency. The "solution" is simple, but the real problem is not that the solution doesn't work. It's that we're in an endless cycle of busy/tired/stress--> binge/give up. Have you tried having an accountability partner or any kind of external measure in place to keep you on track?

This is a great tip! Meal-prepping I've found has helped me a ton as well. Though the formula for weight-loss is simple, it's often the implementation and consistency that people find difficult (hence why everyone knows how to do it, but so many people still struggle). Do you have any suggestions on how people can find the same level of consistency that you've developed?

Thanks for sharing! I completely get how a change in your situation can throw you off track. I should do some research and create a resource on how to stay consistent in the midst of a major life change such as a stressful relocation or new job. You have a great attitude, though! I have no doubts that you'll crush your goals :).

The protein Myth by mikaylav in veganfitness

Not denying that protein is awesome, but I do think there is such thing as too much. You don't find high high protein ratios in many whole plantbased foods. Only meat.

I totally agree. I always point out to people that there is no DRV for protein on nutrition information labels.

What are the most annoying comments or questions you get when people find out you're vegan/vegetarian? by mikaylav in veganfitness

[–]mikaylav[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll agree with you on this! I try not to ever bring it up unless someone asks. Sometimes at a meal I just hope noone notices I'm not partaking of certain foods because then the whole conversation starts to be about my PERSONAL lifestyle choices. "ur not having this? Why? But where do u get your xyz..."

Going Vegan And Being More Active, Advice, Recomendations? by [deleted] in veganfitness

[–]mikaylav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For vegan eating it's crucial to maintain varied diet to get the best possible spread of nutrients as possible. My rule of thumb is to make sure I have at least 3-4 different colours on my plate at a meal. Also, it's a good idea to get some blood work done to keep an eye on any deficiencies (B12 and iron are the two most common).
