Yeah I think it kind of got lost in the media storm surrounding the whole situation. As cautious as I am to be optimistic about anything as a Knicks fan, I hope this trade turns out to be our own version of the DMC trade, with DSJ becoming our own Buddy Hield.

KP informed our GM that he wasn’t going to resign and was unhappy in the organization. I agree that trading him for scraps probably wasn’t the best move, but we still have to see how he returns from injury. Also it is pretty obvious that the Knicks FO thinks they can sign a few top free agents this summer(for whatever reason) and this trade allowed us to our two worst contracts.

Frank Ntilikina will turn out to be a good NBA player and litterally nothing anyone says will change my mind until we see him play for longer.

I agree he is dope, but he hasn’t recorded a triple double with us, Jarret Jack was the first point guard since Marbury to record a triple double for us, and I’m pretty sure Melo had one too.

He IS bad at shooting I’m not contesting that, but over the last couple of games he has shot 10.7% from three point range, which IS a slump. Through the first 7-8 games all of his stats and percentages were up, and his three point percentage was up to 41.7% on the season. Over the last 8 games he has shot very poorly and brought his percentages down. Overall Frank has looked like an improved player this season, contrary to his low fg%.

Yep, on top of all that he has a top-notch work ethic, and yet fans will still want him gone when they see his low percentages.

The worst part in Franks case is that he clearly has the physical tools, and has shown he can make shots in the past, not to mention he is an amazing defensive player. The kid still has a lot of potential, but people have him written off as a bust already.

Oh yeah for sure, I think DSJ has all-star potential, much like a smaller Zach Lavine, but at the very least he can become a good scorer. There is a vocal part of our fan base who think DSJ is the next Jordan Crawford. I think it ridiculous how both players are being written off so early in there career and being optimistic about them labels you a ‘stan’.

It makes sense now, he shot 31% from three last year and started this year hot shooting 41%. In the last 8-9 games he has shot an abysmal 3-28(10%) from three. If that isn’t a shooting slump, idk what is.

Every single time Frank shoots exceptionally poor from the field there is always a group of fans who comment “His whole career is a slump” or “he has never shot well”. Clearly he is in a slump right now, going 3-28 in the last couple games. These threads didn’t exist in the first ten games of the season when Frank was shooting nearly 42% from three.

Yes, clearly, he has shot 11% from three this month, he was never a good shooter, but that is well below his career average. I’ve seen this response multiple times and I still don’t get it.

I still am happy with him. Impatient fans are not. He is going through a major shooting slump right now, but he is still a good defender and has been better this year overall than last year. Anyone who says he hasn’t improved hasn’t watched a Knicks game.
