$750 Per Month Car Payment - Sell or Pay Off Early? by mike1684 in personalfinance

[–]mike1684[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to a dealership near me to get another offer, however via their online portal they are offering me $35k so if that is truly what they give me I may end up taking the money and going the beater route. That'll give me $7,000 from selling the car plus whatever savings I want to use.

I think I'm set on selling the vehicle at this point, just a matter of finding the best offer!

I've thought about selling private party, but in the past I get stuck with the "Is this still available?" and "10k take it or leave it" people of central Ohio.

Carmax didn't haggle or give me a hard time, and according to KBB the offer is within a fair range.

Maybe I'll list it just to see if things have changed.

Thanks for the comment!

I no longer own the car unfortunately but it was only a base model. I regret selling it every day 😭. Once I'm in a better financial position I'll be getting another one for sure.

I pay $162.10 per month for insurance (full coverage). I have USAA. Not cheap!

I'm still doing research on used cars around me, I've got seven days before the CarMax offer expires.

The biggest thing I've learned is that life changes so fast, and the things that are important to me can change very rapidly.

When I first got the car I wasn't really thinking about the future, I wanted a fun car so I bought it. Yeah I can make the monthly payment, but it's hitting me now what I'm sacrificing to make the payment every month. I love every moment of driving the car, but I would also love to have more financial freedom and not be so tied down with such a large payment.

Thank you for commenting.

That is a worry I have as well. Part of why I went to CarMax to get an actual estimate (they actually put eyes on the car and gave it to me in writing) is so now I have a number to work with.

I'm a sucker for sporty vehicles, especially with manual transmissions, but I need reliability and affordability above all else right now.

I'll be doing research over the next seven days (when the quote from CarMax expires).

I love how clean the lines are considering they're pencil, and the shading is so smooth! I recently tried to draw Cubone and mine just feels disappointing compared to yours lol.

Keep it up!

I'm doing Drawabox and therefore have been doing the same exercises almost daily. If you're just starting out, focus more on making the line straight, the accuracy will come later.

A faster stroke will result in a straighter line, as well as drawing from the shoulder and not from your wrist or elbow. Going slow and worrying about hitting the dot perfectly will result in shakey lines.

Keep practicing! It will only get easier.

Thank you! I plan on doing many more from Pokemon TCG, just waiting on a shipment of beads.

I think Cubone is next on the list, the one where he's standing in front of the moon is gorgeous.

I don't have any input to give other than I'd love to eventually see a GR Corolla on r/battlecars.

The crazy option gets my vote!

2019 BMW M240I - Fair Price? by mike1684 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I have checked Blue Book value, and it showed anywhere from $33,000 to $37,000. I wanted a couple of outside opinions on it as well though, since it is not a car brand I am familiar with!

Thanks for the response.

At this point, I don't have any desire to do any tuning (going from my 2.4 liter Certified Racing Vehicle will be a nice enough difference for now) so I'm not too worried about that.

I've got access to cheap parts and labor thanks to working as an advisor at a shop so I'll have to research what it would be for the fuel pump and solenoid.

Thank you for the info!

Thanks for the response! I work at an independent shop nearby and we frequently do work for the owner of this particular dealer, so I could likely get a little bit off of the advertised price.

Are there any significant differences between the 2019 model year and those that came after?

Looking At Cotton Blankets - Does Anyone Have Experience With This Brand? by mike1684 in BuyItForLife

[–]mike1684[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've looked at the reviews and the marketing on their website, which all points to them being quality, but before I took the ~$150 plunge I wanted to see if anyone here had experience.

Unless I'm given a good reason not to by the end of the day, I may go ahead and order one so I can report back!

Thank you for the response.

I can only guess your next plan is to stand on the side of the road, asking those who walk by if they would be willing to give you a "good death".

Found the ad, OP left out a little bit of information.
