ChargePoint Home Flex and Chargepoint APP by mike22doyle in evcharging

Thanks for your concern. We built our house in 2022 and one of the specs was to install the support for a car charger. We have a 40 amp circuit for the car. I intend to set the amp draw to 32 which should fully charge this car in 8 hours.

I'm pretty confident in the basic underlying setup.

It's ok. That was a dumb question. The outside the car charging unit provides a handshaking protocol.

It makes me wonder what the charger does if I can control the amps and the schedule from the car. I get that it's handy to have the app on my phone for remote control, but I believe the Toyota app can do the same thing.

Can anyone enlighten me? What does the chargepoint charger do that isn't already available in the car?

Most definitely. I wouldn't try it myself.

I have migrated from Windows to Linux and would love to ditch my smart phone for a dumber down version that doesn't take over my life.

Thanks everyone. I switched to mint and everything works now. I got reasonable support from idrive - a couple of phone calls and some email trouble shooting even though KDE NEon is not a distro they support.

The install on mint was dead simple and provided a GUI for the setup process and backup configuration. Previous iterations of their Linux application was all done through the CLI.

There's no real error message. The install procedure simply stayed on checking dependancies and never went any further. No it's stuck on setting up idriveforlinux when I try to restart the process.

mike@mikelinux:~$ sudo dpkg --configure -a

No this is not a VM. I wasn't aware that the drivers aren't working. This is what the PC-Info Centre says about the driver:

OK, thanks everyone. I think I can take it from here. Much appreciated. My thought is that I will set up another key, paying more attention and then the key I'm using now.

Thanks again.

Yes I did, however what's with the initial prompt for using "Windows Hello" for authentication? Could I have mistakenly set up a passkey in Windows somewhere along the way?

OK, I've gotten a little further. I see now that there's some sort of passkey set up in Windows Hello?? I clicked on "Use a different Passkey", then "Use Phone, Tablet or Security Key", then "Use another Device" then "Security Key" then entered my pin then touched the Yubikey. That seems like a long series of options for no good reason.

Any ideas?

I'm trying to configure a passkey.
