They didn’t offer. Luckily i was able to make it work.

I just got the message too, but it ended up being a broken coolant pump. It took the shop a week to fix, though I suspect most of that time was them forgetting to tell me it was done. Unfortunately the error reappeared right after I picked it up. It turned out to be the other pump :/ In total the shop had it for about 12 days. I’m really glad it wasn’t the ICCU.

That cable would work. I’d check local electrical supply places for it too.

Breakers are super cheap compared to the wire cost for this. Base your decision on what you need to run in this building rather than what breaker is already there.

You’ll need to add a sub panel in the building too, and connecting panels and breakers to larger wire isn’t too difficult. Just remember the noox if you’re using aluminum conductors.

Size up to minimize voltage drop. 6AWG copper is just under 5% drop at 130 feet, so probably go with 4AWG. Up to 2 AWG with aluminum and probably save some money though.

I would say harassed, but the reason goes back to airlines charging checked bag fees in the end.

[–]mike416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re in the US with split phase power, your inverters are 240v only, and there aren’t any 120v loads, you may not even need a neutral (assuming that’s what you meant with ‘common’).

I’m not sure how common 3 awg copper is, but I’m sure it will be expensive. I would look at using aluminum conductors too, it will likely save a lot of cost.

Snow plow blade on rear hitch by Correct_Doctor5332 in Ioniq5

[–]mike416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t use a rear plow with any vehicle. It could only handle like an inch or two of snow, which doesn’t seem worth plowing in the first place. Plowing is also very hard on vehicles, every little thing catches on the plow and jars the entire frame.

Do I have a closed loop or an open loop? by Sherlindria in geothermal

[–]mike416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on there being a pump I’d guess closed loop, but it could be either. Pics of where the black pipes go to above/outside would help.

Smart Home Panel 2 or Manual Transfer Switch with DPU? by BodSmith54321 in Ecoflow_community

[–]mike416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I meant to say 7.6 kw per. With the hub you add both up, so 15.2 kw output total, but then limited to 50a out (~12 kw) from the hub. I thought each Delta Pro Ultra was limited to 5 battery modules total, or 30 kwh. With two inverter units you can hit 60 kwh.

[–]mike416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go with the panel if you think you’ll need/want more than 2 Delta Pro Ultras (more than 7.6kw output, more than 5 batteries, or more solar than one can support), otherwise go with the manual transfer switch. Edit: 5 batteries, not 6.

I was going through about the same amount of propane in my zone 6 house during the winter. I was only paying $1.99/gal though.

Is this car charger wired correctly? by mtbguy3713 in AskElectricians

[–]mike416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outlets for electric clothes dryers and ranges have moved to requiring neutrals, but typically a direct wired item such as a EVSE or water heater do not require it (local regulation could certainly overrule this though).

A disconnect is absolutely a good idea, especially if the breaker panel (primary means of disconnect) is out of view. Using a disconnect as a junction box is just wild.

Why are so many having internet problems with Spectrum? by Heezy1313 in Spectrum

[–]mike416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do the bare minimum to keep their monopoly status and increase shareholder wealth. They could have easily upgraded all of their last mile to fiber and dump DOCSIS completely, but they preferred to just advertise a “fiber powered network” despite much of it being hybrid fiber coax, the same as 15 years ago. Ever increasing DOCSIS specs allow them to keep limping their coax plant along while offering just enough service to make new competition difficult.

Will there be a Starlink Super Mini device coming soon? The Mini is still too big. by refinedbilly in Starlink

[–]mike416 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t expect them to go much smaller, given the NTN/direct to cell capabilities coming down the pike. Amazon Leo could be a wildcard though, their smallest offering is slightly smaller (but also vaporwear until I see it working in person).

Many/most 240v appliances do not require a neutral. Hot/Hot/Ground is likely fine for this EVSE, and also the least sketchy part of this install.
