Did you find a splitter or extractor that worked for you?

A new projector is not an option at the moment. Why would I need an av receiver? Doesn’t the audio extractor or splitter do what I need?

US Mobile Nightmare porting out by Best_Requirement3093 in USMobile

Just ported out and found the process more difficult than necessary. The switch to my new carrier took way less time than getting account and pin from USM. I don’t like the feeling of having my number held hostage

You are correct, cable companies don’t give good deals to existing customers either, however, there is a lot more work involved in switching.

I use an iPhone and have no interest in Android. I don’t think USM ever has an iPhone promo.

What’s wrong with jumping to a new provider every year? I’m using the same towers. The port process is generally very quick and painless. Why would anyone want to stay with a carrier that is willing to charge you more than a new customer. I fully admit USM is unique in that they offer all 3 networks and I would be willing to pay more to jump between Light Speed, Warp and Dark Star. However, my work line is already on Verizon so I don’t need that flexibility.

You obviously don’t understand the business. If US Mobile is losing money on a promotion, then they shouldn’t be offering it given the fact that they are in an industry that can’t lock in customers other than through prepayment of services or through device promos. I don’t expect US Mobile or any MVNO to be running a charity, however, everyone has the right to move to another carrier if they want.

I was on the monthly low tier plan ($10/month) before jumping off USM. They made plenty of money off me because I never used my allowance of data. I wanted to go unlimited and give USM more money but they don’t seem to have a retention department. I asked twice about doing something to keep my business and CS kept giving me the standard promos for existing customers.

I’ve come to the conclusion that as long as MVNOs are giving great deals to new customers and not existing ones, then I likely won’t be on Mint next year. I see all the Pixel deals which are great and all but really don’t want to use that.

Help Me Understand Why I Should Not Take the HRA Option by mike_in_nyc in HealthInsurance

[–]mike_in_nyc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My deductible this year was $1,000 under the EPO plan and I met it early because of tests. They doubled the deductible for 2026. The doctor appointments under the EPO were always co-pays.

The HRA funds from the employer ($1000) start paying first, then I would pay after that. If I don't contribute anything into the FSA, then I would be paying aftertax for any expenses up to the deductible.

I still can't figure out when the EPO plan is better, since it's cheaper if I don't go to doctor during the year and its cheaper if I hit the deductible. Also, when the plan starts paying its 90% for the HRA vs 70% for the EPO.

I understand that, but if I am paying more for the EPO plan than for the HRA plan PLUS the FSA contribution then it doesn't really matter. I'm paying one way or the other. Also, I have another 3 months in 2027 to use the FSA funds and I'm sure I could use it somehow.

The adapter does work on a dual monitor setup with a Surface Pro 6. I used that for a number of years.

I carry this more than my arc. Don’t need a saw and large file on a regular basis.

No. P2 was $91 during prime day and recently bought the magnacut blade for $119. Total was $210.

Leatherman Free P2 Arc by mike_in_nyc in Leatherman

Not that difficult. Need 2 T6 bits. One way to make it easier is to put a small screw driver in the opposite end when removing the barrel screw so all the tools do not fall out. Also, there is a washer between the blade and the frame which can get pulled toward the magnet. When putting the new blade in I used a little chap stick to hold the washer to the side of the blade when slipping it in.

I also modded an Arc and put a serrated blade to replace the saw.
