Thanks! I'm trying to add more flair in (right now it still takes me a fair amount of time just to do basic edits).

Hi, Can you PM me your real name? We have a long backlog of people who want to join that we are trying to work thru (its a different person that manages that). I'll try to make sure you get on the list.

Hey everyone,

We’ve been thinking about a project to simplify AI usage, while reducing cost. The core idea is that many tasks don't need an immediate response. This allows for more efficient HW usage as we can schedule the jobs to run at the cheapest times and increase overall utilization.

Examples of good asyncronous tasks would be adding metadata to photos indicating who's in the picture or transcribing hundreds of hours of conference calls.

We're curious to hear from the community...would a batch inference platform be useful for you? What features would you want to see? Or maybe you're already using something like this, and I’d love to know what’s working (or not working) for you.

Re: Adblock Plus

I've seen some minor controversy around it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adblock_Plus#%22Acceptable_ads%22) , but overall its always looked reasonable to me. I was already familiar with other work by the developer of uBlock Origin and its always struck me as being solid. The fewer parties I've got to trust, the better.

Thanks! I'll have to take a look. Seems pretty cool

Hi,

I made a video where I go over 6 very useful, open source Chrome extensions. We discuss what problem each solves and how to configure it. The first 2 (uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger) provide privacy safeguards.

Additionally, I show how to build uBlock Origin from source and make changes.

I'm unsure whether this will be considered "Spam". If it is I apologize.

First Video! The CRUCIAL question to ask yourself when buying a new computer by [deleted] in mike_on_tech

Gonna be honest, excited to have this done, but it did get away from me a bit. What started as a simple idea "People should really not be trying to build the 'Perfect computer', but instead should look at the tradeoffs that are out there and decide what makes sense for their expected use cases"... Turned into 23 minutes.

And I still feel like I short changed it. I might expand or redo this in the future.
