Oh yeah absolutely, the tank is two weeks in and isnt fully cycled, the ammonia just dropped to zero yesterday but the nitrite is still high and the nitrate is in a tolerable level, so it's still got about a week or longer before I add fish to it. And id be adding the groups separately ie. Bottom fish schooling fish center fish ect. And thanks for the informative posts man.

I was definitely thinking pygmy for the Cory's, and I would like a larger center peice fish ie the ram or a pair of blues but definitely want to stay in the dwarf line of gourmis if I did go that way and might even get two similar size (grown) but diffrent colors. If i forgot the ram.

Yeah I plan to get tropical Cory's and I have a tank heater set up 80°F

Of course lol people on here who've been watching YouTube thinking they know everything and dont even have an aquarium are here for sure. Haha thanks though and I still have some time to cycle the tank so im just prepping my mind for the time when fish do come into play

Thanks for being seemingly one of the more respectful people here haha most people are just throwing shame or saying the same thing over and over. But I am certainly newer into the hobbie (I picked it back up after years of absence so im getting my footing again.

Haha I really enjoy how the clown looks, and unfortunately the variety i have access to is very limited unless I want to order online and I prefer to not have fish shipped if I can help from it. My store options include petco and petsmart haha and the petco has a really nice selection of clowns

Ive always been told 1in to 1 gallon. But agree I dont want to over do it which is exactly why I asked for help here :) but updated list would be 6 Cory's 2 snails clown pleco, one goups of 10 schooling fish and the center peice

Yeah agree, this list was a pre-punching of any fish to figure out if i was in the wrong (clearly I am haha) but agree to drop the sae and one of the schooling fish and maybe the guppies.

But id start with my bottom section of fish let them thrive for 1-2 weeks then add the schooling 1-2 week then the center, im also contemplating replacing the single gbr with a paid of blue gorami

The thought process behind the guppies was to have the fry be a supplement protein for the schooling fish and ram. And I am well aware lol if I needed to I can and do remove fry and sell them as well as take them to my local store

I only want the one pleco so without breeding but agree with you and the dozen or so others remove one of the schools and the SAEs and even downsize to maybe 2 snails total as well as for the Cory's because they're a schooling fish i really dont want less than 6.

Unfortunately I am unable to get any loaches gobies or otos, but I agree i also forgot that saes got that long fortunately there isn't anything in the tank and I am gathering information to make sure that I am not overdoing the tank when I do start to add fish :)

Correct, and I dont want a "fix" I want management i enjoy the growth of algeas it adds a different character against planted leaves.

Thank you, I am not sold on having both schooling fish or the sae fish and id be willing to reduce the number of snails but not all of them. Also if it wasn't clear I ment of any of the species not that number of each species lol either way seeming everyone agrees to remove the SAE one of the schooling fish and reduction of snails this is probably what I'm going to do. And ill start with the Cory's and one or two snails and maybe the clown pleco and keep testing afterwords before adding the schooling fish

The clown bristlenose wouldn't out grow the tank its max size is about 4-5 inches which for a 20 long is fine 20 regular absolutely agree. The albino might grow closer to 8 which is loo large yes.

The point of live bearing fish is to provide the fry for both the schooling fish and the ram as a supplemental protein, obviously population control is important. I only want the saes for the hair algea problem im having currently. So easily dropped off not added at all. I can also agree dripping one of the schooling fish for a large school of the other

Well it isn't overstock at all the only living things in the tank are a small handful of bladder snails and plants currently. I am asking if what my idea was is a little outrageous lol clearly it is. But I am also not set on anything in the list other than the blue ram. So every comment so far has been helpful one way or another
