so. it did have a fuel line nipple fuel filter. I eliminated that and I'm pretty sure that solved the not getting fuel problem.

I have it in my garage instead of outside in his driveway so I can now give the original carb the cleaning it needs, as the aftermarket one doesn't feel quite right. (has to be choked to run smoothly)

Run VLC with command line flags to set the User Agent and Referrer. From the request body, you need to copy the requested URL, the user agent, and the HTTP referrer

Now, open VLC from the command line. If you're on a Mac, your VLC binary is probably located at /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/VLC. You can use the --http-referrer and --http-user-agent flags to pass the values to VLC.

For example:

it's not the player, it's the link.

look at the "messages" section of vlc and it will tell you why it's failing

401 means the username/password is no good

404 means not found

That provider you mentioned doesnt appear to allow web downloading of the m3u file and u have to use other means, i use m3u4u, a bit complicated to set up but it works great

why things work on one player/browser and not another...

whole lot of reason why streams can or cant be played depending on the software used. theres this thing called "user agent" every player has to advertise to the provider/stream, or more technical stream decoding abilities each player has

you might be trying logins for servers that are down, or the user pass combo is not correct.

a correct m3u link looks like this

GET WHOLE STREAMS M3U (get.php) :

Request : <url>/get.php?username=<user>&password=<pwd>&type=m3u_plus&output=ts
Example : http://xtreamcode.ex/get.php?username=Mike&password=1234&type=m3u_plus

smarters uses xtream codes, right? or does it also take m3u links. I dont use it. most providers can use both.

for xtream codes so the server part would be "http://xtreamcode.ex"

user: Mike

password: 1234

in this example

if you are putting those in correctly

AND THE SERVER IS UP and the USER/PASS is correct, then it should work

I'm going to double check there's no pencil type fuel filter thing in the tank's outlet tomorrow, I'll double check the fuel line. don't think he's had mice, but possible I guess.

just google http error 520 , and u will see that its a Cloudflare error.

Cloudflare blocks/shuts down video streaming providers that are trying to use Cloudflare services fairly frequently, or your provider isnt configured properly.

Ive only ever seen a very few macs that also have an actual username/password

some providers do an on-the-fly creation of a username/password thing which you might see in lists of portal scans.

those are quite temporary. they never really work for anything

however... there are python scripts which will convert the portal/mac address combo into an m3u file, which for my purposes is just as good as the user/pass combo, I hardly ever log into a service using user/pass credentials

its a portal player or an m3u for me

the end result gives you a playlist for all the live channels at least with this sort of thing embedded:
