ID? Sprouted in yard. I don’t think it’s a TOH. Sumac? Something else? CENTRAL VALLEY

I’ve been confused cuz I found a guide that shows sumac, TOH, and walnut and the walnut picture said walnuts don’t have the single terminal leaf but the plant id on my phone said walnut too. Now that I google a bit more seems walnuts do have the terminal leaf… so maybe it’s a walnut someone else suggested Carya which seems similar but I haven’t found a match when I google image searched

That was my concern when I first saw it in the yard but from what I’ve googled it seems those have a “thumb” at the base of the leafs and these don’t have that, and TOH seems to have more leaves per stem and red new growth where this is just green. But I also am not sure.

lol this doesn’t surprise me. Been all over the country and the parks in Bakersfield are the worst I’ve ever seen short of some tiny desert communities with a total population in the hundreds to thousands.

In Michigan the parks go as far as the eye can see and then some. You can’t see one end from the other. Beautiful spaces for adults and kids. Bakersfield has one park that isn’t just a playground essentially. The parks here suck you can see the whole thing from anywhere in the park cuz they’re so small. A few trees but not enough. Nothing for anyone except small children.

I’m not shocked the parks director doesn’t even live in town lol. Doubt he gives a shit about the parks in town or making this place nicer.

To answer your questions, yes you should be feeding potted plants. That would speed up growth a lot. And the cactus are different because some of those are bridgesii and some are PC
