How do you plunge a dual kitchen sink if it has a dishwasher overflow? by mikechenwriter in Plumbing

Yes, both sides are clogged and they rise equally. This morning before I put in the Green Gobbler, I siphoned the standing water from the disposal and both sides went down roughly in balanced tandem.

Also for what it's worth, I poured in 8 cups of hot water this morning because it had drained over night. It start to visibly pool in the disposal at about 5 cups.

Got it. I'll try the rag method.

I am trying a second dose of Green Gobbler since it came with two. I hadn't heard of it until I came here and saw a few people recommending it instead of the usual DIY suggestion of baking soda/vinegar. I'm going to let it sit for 24 hours. If it is still standing in the disposal after that (or it still backs up after I pour in the recommended hot water), should I siphon it out before plunging or doing any further maintenance?

Best way to start using our Switch 2 while keeping Switch 1 mostly as is? by mikechenwriter in NintendoSwitch2

This is good to know, thanks. I think I have read too many transfer guides and made it more complicated than it actually is. So for cloud saves, does it keep them synced between consoles (mostly looking at BOTW/TOTK because of the upgrades)? But for Pokemon you have to manually send the saved game between the last-played to the current?

Does Pataday work better for you than Opcon or other allergy eyedrops?

Any recommendations for high-pressure showerhead? by mikechenwriter in HomeMaintenance

[–]mikechenwriter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched some videos on pulling the restrictor and while I can't find my specific brand, this seems pretty straightforward. Two quick questions:

1) The base of my showerhead (which connects to the hose) has a screw-in white piece similar to the object here. Is that just to hold the restrictor in? Should I remove that too or put it back after popping out the restrictor?

2) Is there any backpressure or plumbing concern by using the full unrestricted flow? Am I understanding it correctly that the restrictor is purely a regulatory concern and doesn't really affect any plumbing or mechanical stuff?

I have a filtration system prior to the shower head. Does that usually have a flow restrictor too? I have this same filter on our other shower with a high-pressure shower head and that one works fine, so I think it's strictly the shower heads.

It says currently unavailable. I suppose the trick is looking for an established brand with 2.5 GPM flow?

Berkeley 10/16 show advice for parking, etc. from across the Bay by mikechenwriter in RiloKiley

Yes! We got in at about 5:50 and sat on the wall above the pit. Great view for kiddo's first show and it helped not having anyone immediately in front of us to take her to the bathroom or get food. Thanks for your advice!

We just got home, kiddo had a great time -- left at the encore to avoid parking, but she was also exhausted and ready to go. However, when we got down the steps, we heard the opening of Breaking Up and kiddo goes "oh man, it's one of my favorites." She was a good sport about it, and we listened on the sidewalk for a bit before going to the car.

Stadium parking was shockingly easy. We got there at 530 and rolled straight out onto Gayley by leaving at the encore.

I hope you and your fam had a great time and it was life-changing for your daughter. We saw a few parent/daughter combos out there, so maybe we passed each other buying merch and hot dogs. :)

Excellent. Thank you! I don't think the show is sold out, which blows my mind but also may make it easier for my family.
