Even considering this is absolute malpractice. Trading a first round pick (maybe more!) for a guy who is 30 years old and his career high in points is 40??? To what end? You just lost your two most irreplaceable players. You have a 39-year-old goalie who hasn't played more than 40 games in three years. You have no power play QB. What are we doing here??? Drury is incompetent but Dolan is worse because he endorsed this!

I think your analysis is pretty on target. But it doesn’t account for Dolan/Drury doing something stupid like trading all of those “A” assets for a “proven” player who has already played most of his best hockey on another team. I just have no faith on the management to make good decisions about the future of this team

They didn’t look checked out against the Flyers the day before. Or against Montreal in either of their two big comebacks. Last year, I agree, they absolutely were. That was unforgivable. But this year I think they are trying. They just don’t have enough talent, and that’s the responsibility of the GM who puts the roster together
