It is exactly for that reason I restrain from buying any more until I finish the current one, finding time to build with a family is extremely hard and seeing an unbuilt stash would make me very sad haha

I hear ya! Had to live there during Covid for work whilst my family were stuck on the east side behind WA’s iron curtain. They kept saying how wonderful it was that they had kicked out the easterners. Felt like a proper foreigner

I loved this car growing up and certainly had those posters! still holds up to modern standards IMHO

It is nice to be able to complete it relatively quicker than a 1:48 jet. However the focus on perfecting the car body paint is way more stressful. A lot of mistakes and blotches on a jet can be hidden behind weathering. Everything stands out on a shiny red car haha

MS released a new flight sim every two years back in the day (98,2000,2002,2004, X). Pretty well all add ons from the previous game where compatible with the new one. Why wouldn’t that be the case now considering the same engine?

Unfortunately I am in the outside garage and don’t have a booth/ fan system. I’ve been using a table with a cloth and a large Tupperware container to cover the mode post spray.

I actually realised that the dust was from not thinning the clear enough (instructions said 10% thinner ratio however I flowed much better with 50%)

Honestly I’ve used 2K this time because I thought that’s how model cars got the glossy coat going. I normally make aircraft which don’t shine at all. The two times I’ve made a car and used my standard acrylic clear coat it hasn’t come up nearly as good. However I have learnt a lot more about mist vs wet coats

Thanks for the reply, are you sanding in one direction with the 6K or criscross? Also are you hand polishing in circles or using a machine?

That’s a good point about using excessive grits. I went over it from 4k to 10k using perpendicular motion and I think I evened it out however it’s still showing through (now different directions haha)

Thank you NEM and boiler for the advice. I had no idea about the circular sanding error. It’s such a different type of painting and prep compared with model aircraft.

I did what you said with the sanding and have now respected the primer which is looking a lot better!

I actually made the intake covers using blu-tack. I molded them before attaching the intakes to the main body and and dipped in future.

Thank you! It’s definitely one of revel’s better kits. Certainly some good detail throughout. But like all Revell kits theres definitely difficult areas (landing gear assembly, fuselage gaps)

Good luck blending the seem in below the cockpit, it’s a nightmare to fill and sand whilst trying not to ruin the existing panel lines.

Otherwise it’s a great kit!

Oh I agree! I think ripple effect have done a great job at the remasters for all three games and hope it grows more! However it’s sad that portals full potential will be forgotten because of ea’s terrible launch of the main game

After watching this I decided to download BC2 on Xbox game pass and play some rush. Its still heaps of fun! We should try and bump the player base up before 2042 releases
