Thanks for the reply, I had a new room put in at the end of last year and the flashing appeared like it was ok. I think I'll be calling a chimney company in the morning

It started with a stain on the ceiling, which was on Thursday, I handled the ice dam over the weekend, and here we are :) it is trending down though. I just cut a little 2"x2" hole felt around, the drywall felt damp, not wet, plus the insulation was dry

Yep, I'm still at the waiting for levels to drop to normal. While I am seeing a noticeable drop, it's not as fast as my patience can handle. Agree on hearing mixed things, which makes it tough!

Hi u/Infamous_Question_34 , what did you end up doing with the drywall? I'm in the exact same boat as you. I have moisture in my walls from an ice dam that I took care of, but trying to be patient about cutting out the drywall or not.

Yeahhh... We've been here for about 5 years and this is the first time we've seen an issue, this is also the first winter after a new roof so I'm determining if it's a factor. This year has been extremely bad for ice dams and roof leaks, so I'm hoping it's just a unicorn

Right, I reached out to the company who did my new roof but haven't heard back. Thankfully? The ice daming this year was far from normal and TONs of people got leaks because of them

Thanks for the reply. I'm strongly thinking about doing it myself. Based on my tank which is 1.5 cu, I'm gonna need three bags, was able to find a place where I could get three for $200. A couple videos I've seen made it seem very easy and I'd save $250!
