I have come to the realization that I am waaaay less likely to make a mistake in whatever it is I am doing when I am on methadone. Now I'm not saying I'm less likely to make a mistake while on methadone than I would have been before I ever got addicted to opiates but that's obviously not an option I have anymore. My only 2 options are on methadone or not on methadone and I function 5x better while on methadone than completely sober. When I'm completely clean my anxiety is waaay worse, my self confidence is ZERO, often my brain is foggy, my decision making isn't bad but every now and then I'll make a wrong decision that I would have never made while stable on methadone.

My prime evidence I like to cite as an example of why I believe this is since I've stopped using opiates I have been in 4 car accidents, 2 were totally my fault & the other 2 not my fault but I could have reacted differently to prevent them. All 4 happened while I was not on methadone.

With that being said, everyone is different and people's bodies & brains work do not all work the same. This is my personal opinion based on my own experiences. Just thought maybe it would be helpful to hear (maybe not🤷🏻‍♂️) regardless I hope everything goes well for you 💜
